At the very least, I'll get it out of the way, preferably by some other carts to make the cart-retriever's job easier.

If it's someplace like Wal-Mart with LOTS of cart stalls, I always return it... if it's someplace like Rouses with TWO for the ENTIRE LOT then I just get it out of the way.

I like to grab an extra 2 or 3 empty carts from the store as I walk out and leave them out in the parking lot.
