Tony Jones Jr. Status (1 Viewer)

Was asking since Kamara May be out this week.
I see… I don’t recall ever seeing that TJJ was ever re-activated. I think the Saints roll with Ingy… and then have Montgomery, Washington, Adams, and Miller spelling him (1 maybe 2 of them, in that order).. with Taysom Hill getting QB run packages

No updates as of yet. I’d have to assume Kamara will be inactive and it’ll be the Ingram/Washington show with Montgomery getting maybe one carry. Possible Miller gets activated but who knows since Washington is healthy now.

I think we got all the Tony Jones Jr news/update we needed when the Saints traded for Mark Ingram.

The TJJ experiment looks like it’s over.
Not sure what this means. “Experiment“ as in they tried him out and didnt like him? Kid looked great until his injury and will surely be back next year if his injury is season ending.

Until they tried him out, and he couldn’t stay on the field.
He got a shot last season, and immediately got hurt… then he won the backup job this year… and… 🤷🏻‍♂️
Yes, he looked really good in preseason, but Callaway has also shown us, that preseason is different.

So, yes, it was a TJJ experiment… and so far it’s “incomplete”

It seems Washington never gets carries when RBs go down. Is his role on special teams that important? I think Devine Ozigbo came in and got more snaps on offense than Washington. I am expecting Lamar Miller to be brought up from the practice squad.

Adams may bring that hard nose runner we lost with Murray and Ingram may have regain his role as the combo to Kamara which leaves TJJ on the outside looking in.

He has not been released so his chapter has not been closed but if Adams provides the relief along with Ingram for those tough yards it's hard to see TJJ getting back in the rotation.

Na, Calloway has the most TDs of any of our receivers and has been one of most consent options. He's a solid WR just not elite where he can beat double coverage but teams know what he's capable of.

Wouldn't be a Saints injury thread, if someone wasn't trying to get rid of a player simply because he got injured. I don't know exactly when it started or why it's a thing now, but I can't wait for it to stop. Injury doesn't equal team cancer or bad player or or doesn't want to play for the Saints.
