Wouldn't be a Saints injury thread, if someone wasn't trying to get rid of a player simply because he got injured. I don't know exactly when it started or why it's a thing now, but I can't wait for it to stop. Injury doesn't equal team cancer or bad player or or doesn't want to play for the Saints.

I never stated any of that. I like TJJ… I was excited when the Saints signed him as an UDFA, and I was a fan of his at Notre Dame. I thought he could be an amalgamation of Mark Ingram and Pierre Thomas… I was also excited when he won the primary backup RB role prior to the start of this season.

Fact is though… both times he was given opportunities to show what he can do in meaningful regular season games, he’s gotten injured.
Sometimes guys (regardless of their talent) just can’t stay healthy. I’m afraid TJJ is just one of those guys.

I think it’s undeniable to look at the Saints bringing Ingram back as anything other than a statement that they believe TJJ is not the guy they can count on.

Until they tried him out, and he couldn’t stay on the field.
He got a shot last season, and immediately got hurt… then he won the backup job this year… and…
Yes, he looked really good in preseason, but Callaway has also shown us, that preseason is different.

So, yes, it was a TJJ experiment… and so far it’s “incomplete”

So the TreQuan Smith, Davenport, Turner experiments are all over too??

Was wondering how Tony Jones jr. is doing? Any updates?

He’s still on IR with an ankle injury. Not sure what the “experiment“ talk is about. He be beat out Murray and ??? For the backup rb spot and averaged 4.1 yards in regular season. I thought he looked good.

We brought him in to temporarily replace a 23 year old while he's out hurt though.

We need someone to spell both Kamara and now Ingram. We running AK into the ground, he gonna be like CMC for long and always hurt... he isnt built for that load he does his best with Ingram spelling him some.
