Both sides.. You simply can't overcome losing that many pieces. Combine that with 14 gifted points and you have what you have here today. If you're going to build your entire offensive game plan around 1 player, and it falls apart when he goes out, that's not a solid game plan.

This team still struggles with coaching and it shows in crunch time moments. Fwiw, I guess a C+ goes to Kubiak for making changes in the 4th to get us the points we needed. But, you just knew that with a minute left, they were going to heave it downfield and we'd get a PI call.

On to the next one I guess.. It's a damn shame, because we gave this game away on both sides of the ball today.

Man, Taysom really is the diesel that makes the engine go. We are a completely different team, with how they call plays out of these formations, with him in there based to him not.

Rasheed has cost us the last two games. One dropped TD last week and that boneheaded move today.

It's almost like they knew the out and up route on adebo would draw a flag

This team is literally cursed
Yeah feels that way for the 40 some odd years I’ve been a fan.

Proud of the team (defense really) aside from the end when we all knew what was coming, the defense was lights out as they usually are. No matter who was in…..when Taysom went out the offense was doomed. We’ve got to figure that out. He’s too old and too oft injured to rely on.

That’s BS. This game could’ve easily been won despite injuries
True, which speaks to the talent and character of the team. There was zero quit in this team today. Both Olave and Kamara were Questionable up to the minute the game started, and both balled out incredibly.

I really, really hate the "last team with the ball wins due to PI calls" way that games are lost in the NFL. Otherwise, we DID find a way to win this game despite bumbling away 14 points.

Offense:
McCoy- Out.
Ruiz- Out.
Hill - Left during game.
Olave - Played through injury.
Kamara - Played through injury.

Defense:
Davis - Out.
Gay - Left during game.
Mathieu - Left during game.

The only other teams in the league with comparable injuries to starters are the Rams and 49ers. Rams are 1-3, 49ers 1-2, Saints 2-2.

Vilma himself said it. There comes a point where next man up is no longer a factor, and the Saints have hit that point. This is a team that Underhill and the rest of the insiders all said was dangerously thin on the depth chart. We're seeing it unfold now.

Until other players on offense can step up, it is what it is.

This..

Every team faces injury adversity. This is just Dennis Allen football. The amount of cope needed to be in denial about this, despite evidence shown over the past 3 years, is actually hilarious.

That’s fair - but where was this “Dennis Allen Football” in weeks 1 and 2?

Could it be that Dennis Allen, like most coaches, is able to do a hell of a lot more when key offensive and defensive personnel aren’t on the bench or in the tent or street clothes?

It’s not coping when you have actually seen the difference between a healthy 2024 Saints and one scraping a roster together from the practice squad and waiver wire.
