I been reading a lot threads over the weeks in i noticed . Some of the fans would like us to trade some of our picks to move up. Personally I think that would be foolish . This year draft is deep in we can use the body's I say keep every pick and some

I'd hope we'll use our first 5 picks (two 1's, 2, and two 3's) on players. no trades. After those 5 picks we'll still have 4. Do whatever you want with those, but definitely come away with 5 studs with those first 5 picks.

We haven't had a draft that we've netted 5 productive players ever since 2006 (maybe).

I agree somewhat. I like the depth of talent available at the end of rd 1 and beginning of rd 2. I wouldn't be opposed to trading #78 or one of the 5th rd picks to move up. Ideally we could make a trade back to the mid 20 ' s to get an extra second round pick then use #78 to trade into the early second round.

No, its not deep. There are reports that this draft is shallow. Only about 15 players have 1st round grades by teams. Maybe a few more. Which means @31 we will be drafting a 2nd round grade player at best, and we could be possibly drafting someone with a 3rd round grade with our 2nd overall (#44) even knowing he's BPA.

If theres ever a year to trade away picks and acquire picks in next years draft, this is it.

If theres also ever a year to trade the #31 pick to move into top 20 to snag the last 1st round graded player, this is also the year.

I agree, but Loomis and Co. will certainly move up.

We also kill it after the draft with UDFAs, so I'm lovin the hell out of this draft. Shout out to The Loomis. This is the most exciting draft we've had since 2006 when we knew we were getting Reggie a couple days prior.

I wouldn't trade up if I was a Saints fan. You lose way too much value in that scenario. I've heard that this years draft has roughly 16 blue chip type players. 16 guys who are considered 1st round worthy. At 13 you guys should end up with someone worthy of that pick.

Now at #31 I would trade back unless a player falls to you that you covet. But if the Saints can trade #31 and get more picks, good for them. Seahawks traded back from #32 last year twice and ended up with #45, #108, #111, and #227. Basically dropped 13 spots and picked up 2 extra 4th's and a 7th.

Far from a deep draft and no need for all of the picks we have. They will be moving picks around you can bet your house on it.

I think we should keep all 5 I just wonder if that 4th or 5th one will be Hundley or Petty?

And you live in Louisiana? Get outta here! :hihi:

The top of the 3rd round always looks to include incredible value on fanspeak.

Our 2 picks that are almost back to back there are awesome. I might give up our late picks for more 3rd's.

I'm against trading away any of our draft selections. No one knows for sure how deep or talented this or any draft is. The fact is some kids can be great college players but never make the transition to the pros or vice versa. They are so-so college players but turn out to be great pro players if given the opportunity and coached well.

Personally thinking or wanting something isn't the same as what will actually happen. We all know that Payton and Loomis do not hesitate to trade up in the draft. From all reports, it seems like they've tried to do it in almost every draft even though it's not always successful. I have never once wanted this FO to trade up in any draft other than last year w Cooks bc I knew we needed a good WR in his style, and he wouldn't have been there had we stayed put.

This draft is similar in that sense but different bc of all the picks they have to work w. I'd put $ on them trading up in the 1st this draft bc, like last year, we are just out of reach of grabbing one of the top defensive prospects. With the high picks we have, I see no way that they don't try to trade up and get their most coveted defender. Now I'm still not sure how I feel about them doing it - it depends what they give up and for who - but I defiantly think they'll trade up in the 1st.
