Trevor Siemian to Bears (1 Viewer)

talk about a guy who didn't seize the opportunity. imagine he's got Sean Payton calling plays and he can't figure out how to win games. What gave it away for me was the slouchy post game interviews as if he was ready to go home and watch an episode of family guy

He seized the opportunity to get a 2 year deal as the backup for the Bears. That dude was never going to be a starting QB but he's a smart guy that was ready to take over when the starter went down. You don't want him starting a bunch of games for you but he's a solid backup QB and he's getting the security that most backup QBs don't get.

Beyond that, it's hard to seize the opportunity here when we had third and fourth string WRs trying to fill in as the #1 WR and a patch work offensive line.

Every game Trevor started Kamara was out with an injury

Because of Michael Thomas being out for the season, the biggest difference in the Saints win/loss record was if Alvin was playing or not.

With Alvin: 9-4
Without Alvin: 0-4

The 4th game without Alvin Taysom started and lost.

I'm not saying Simian is a good QB, but his starts in New Orleans put him in the absolute worst situation possible ... an offense with multiple injured offensive linemen and back-of-roster skill position players.

People seem to have either forgotten or simply dismissed the fact that we were completely decimated by injury and covid last season.

As has been pointed out already, he made the most of his opportunity here. From where his career was when the Saints picked him up to having a couple of teams pursue him for a QB2 spot. That’s a come up for Siemian.
