Question Two young QBs only need one to groom. (1 Viewer)

I'm going to agree that QB is a non issue for this team. I'd be completely comfortable rolling into a season with with Haener or Rattler provided that we were able to boost our level of talent at WR & TE. Considering our Salary Cap situation, QB is the last thing we need to consider.
U said it. Why have both? It is one season at a time, Starter, Quality back-up for 1-2 wins, a young for developing. 2 young ones for developing seems like playing for future only, what about the present?

Not if it means 1-2 wins. How many times have teams missed play-offs by 1-2 wins.

We have like three years in a row and the backup didn’t get us there. We lost every game Carr was knocked out of last season. And we lost every game he missed this season. I’d rather save the cap space and watch a young guy get reps than Jameis or Dalton. If we were Super Bowl contenders I’d feel differently.

I think Haener is seasoned enough that if he were asked to, he could be Brock Purdy-ish in the Shanahan/Kubiak offense. If the Head Coaching change leads to an Offensive Coordinator change, then I think Rattler offers a higher ceiling than Haener but maybe less reliable.

It's a good problem to have 2 rookie contract players worthy of getting a shot. If we can beef the O-Line a little bit and add a couple of receiving weapons, we're in good shape on offense
