USC got ROCKED (1 Viewer)

USC always loses late in the season to take them out of the national championship picture. Pete Carrol is a great recruiter but average coach. These losses are always big upsets, and Carrol's team seems to be under prepaired and under motivated. Keep in mind that it's not like the SEC where there's about 4 teams in the top 10 in recruiting every year. In the PAC-10 there's USC and then there's everybody else.

College Board.

and, USC has been getting nipped at in the past 2-3 seasons, they've still put out some good teams but there was still something missing, they always ended up getting upset at the worst possible time by either Oregon St.(twice), Washington(this year), and now Oregon tonight. The competition is catching up and evening the playing field a bit more. But I won't say USC is in decline just yet. Their just not that superhuman team that wins all the time anymore. They have a huge national recruiting base so in that they may pick up a few more 3 or 4, maybe 5 star recruits because of their brand name.

CB, it's been said many times, but if USC had to contend with a brutal SEC conference going up against LSU, Tennessee, Florida, Alabama, Auburn, and Georgia, they don't have that runaway success over the past 10 years. The SEC, IMO, is akin to an NFL minor-league system, we play at a much faster, extremely physical pace, and any win you get, most times you earned it . USC probably loses 2-3 games if they played in a conference like ours, maybe more.

I've watched a few SC games this year, and they just aren't that great this year. I've been trying to tell friends that are 'USC fans' and they laugh. When they beat Ohio State earlier this year I told them that USC would lose at least 2 games this year, they still laughed.

I've been pretty steamed lately since everyone had them at #5, but then again it is USC, they are always 'over ranked'.

Even Reggie would admit that you don't send your entire linebacking corps to the NFL and expect to dominate the next year.

The Washington game should've told Carrol & Co. that they weren't simply more talented than everybody else and could therefore win on that basis.

Its good to see the conferences have their pecking orders change once in awhile. Oregon ahead of USC. Georgia Tech ahead of Miami. Iowa ahead of tOSU/Penn State/Michigan. TCU over BYU/Utah, K state over Nebraska and Mizzou.

This sort of thing wont happen in the SEC anytime soon.. The SEC refs make darned sure that the highest ranked team wins in SEC conference games

That running back for Oregon looks like an NFL runner. He ran angry, which is one of the best traits you can see in a running back. Reminded me a little bit of DeAngelo Williams.

You could feel many guys on ESPN starting to nudge USC towards the BCS championship game again the last two weeks, making arguements and such for them.

So much for that now.

The bile was slowly creeping up to the back of my throat.

Thanks, Phil Knight! :9:
