USC vs Nebraska (1 Viewer)

Sorry guys but Pete Carroll will outcoach Les anyday of the week and twice on gameday. The only shot LSU has is that the championship game is in New Orleans. I don't think you guys realize that most people who watch the pac 10 get bored by watching the SEC because there are so FEW good offenses. A lot of the sec teams look slow.

And for all of you LSU lovers......don't even compare schedules since I still can't find a real road game for the tigers.

Well to be honest the only one we have to worry about there is OU. LSU will get to prove if they are better than Florida at least once (more than likely twice) this season.

True. Still, it bothers me that when it gets down to it, we're one opinion, not loss, away from playing in the NC game. And that's true of all the top tier teams. :angryrazz:

PLAYOFFS, PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ALL the games count...not just road games, not just OOC games...ALL of them. I look at the WHOLE schedule and see who's tough and who's not. It's great if you get the tough teams at your home stadium, but that doesn't make them a lock. Ask Nebraska...

I don't quite understand why anyone cares what the AP has any College team ranked. With voters like the ****** bag Kirk Herbstreit who couldn't call and unbiased game ever (any teams, any stadium, anywhere in the country, I would hate to see a USC vs Ohio state game with him calling)and the fact that the poll does not mean a damn thing, why would anyone care?

When the BCS poll comes out, then I might care (probably won't worry until after we beat South Carolina, Florida, Kentucky, Auburn, Alabama and Arkansas, becuase if we don't win out, we aren't going to the national championship game), but until then Geaux Tigers

Carroll is overrated. As a recruiter he's probably the best out there. As a gameplanner and such, not so much. I've watched him make some peculiar calls over the years. That being said, he's probably still better than Les, but he is not the football mastermind that ESPN has you believe.

No real evidence to back this up. opinion.

How entertained some fairweather fans in California are by LSU has no bearing at how good LSU or the SEC is at football.

:hihi: :hihi: :hihi:
I'm gonna go ahead and disagree there.

Bama is a real road game for the tigers. After that, yea its pretty weak, but I would love to point out some very tough home games. Even if you are at home, you still have to play a tough team. Crazy concept, I know.

LSU- Virginia Tech #18, SC # 17, Fla #5, Arkansas #16, and Auburn, Kentucky, and Bama should/could all be ranked at time of game. Throw in SECCG which should have a top 10 FLA.

USC- #14 Nebraska, #19 Oregon, #8 Cal, and UCLA will be out of top 25 tomorrow.

:dunno: USC's schedule isn't tougher by any stretch of the imagination.

On another note, if I hear "round robin" again on ESPN I will break something. I fail to understand why that makes USC's schedule tougher than LSU's. The pac 10 isn't that strong. If it was a tough conference I would get it, but they're not. Adding teams like Arizona and Stanford don't quite do it for me.

I'm sorry watching championship football bores you. You sound exactly like the Ohio State fans did last December and the first few days in January.

You know, I almost bought into the Pac 10 being the better conference this year but everytime I start thinking this some high rank pac 10 teams gets killed by some team that isn't even in a BCS conference, like Utah.

LSU doesn't have much of a road schedule this year. Last year we played Florida, Arkansas, Alabama, Auburn and Tennessee on the road. USC has never played that many good teams in a year, much less on the road. Every other year the Tigers have an impossible road schedule.

Don't worry though, I am rooting for USC so they can get dismantled on national television in the Dome. The sad part is I wish the game was at the Rose, Fiesta or Orange Bowl this year so I don't have to hear the excuses about home field advantage because they sure haven't been there when USC wins the Rose Bowl.

I brought this up in an arguement on the Foxsports.com website. Really what is harder? Playing every PAC-10 team or being in the SEC, ACC or BIG 12 and facing 8 of the 11 other teams in your conference AND then having to face either the best or second best team in your conference in the championship game at a neutral site. Really for LSU to make the BCS championship game they will have to beat Florida once at home and once in Georgia. I don't see USC having to beat Cal and then going to Sacramento to play them again a month later for the right to go to the BCS championship game.

Hey remember that time when USC was going for back to back titles and they played Texas in the Rose Bowl and lost? That was fun.

It was fun, wasn't it?

You know what else was fun? When USC put out a video about how no one at USC cares about the onepeat.com billboard. They put out a video to prove they don't care. Offfff course you don't. :)

Even funnier is the fact that they say USC is better because of their indifference towards the sign. Maybe its the fact that LA has the most apathetic sports audiences in America...

I attended USC for a while, and it was a great university with great people. I'm happy they have an excellent team again, because there had been about a twenty-year period of mediocrity that needed erasing. And the cheerleaders were really the hottest women I have ever met! Ah, college!

Exactly. On one of the college board links, the opinion seems to be that VTech was overrated, but USC soundly beat a tough Nebraska team, therefore LSU still has a "cupcake" schedule. HUH???? :dunno:

All this wouldn't bother me, frankly, except that you MUST be in the top two to play for the NC. If the media decides that it should be USC and Florida, or USC and OU, then LSU is out, even if they're the better team. It simply cannot be truly decided "on the field" with the media bias that is so prevelant.

USC and OU would be ridiculous and has no chance of happening if LSU doesn't lose.

But I would not think its unfair a single bit if they put Florida ahead of LSU at the end if LSU struggles at all and they end up with the same record. If you were a Florida fan, would you think its fair that you won the NC last year, went undefeated again, and don't get to stay number 1?

The dumbest part about all this is not keeping the winner of the NC number 1 for the next year. And this coming from someone who hates Florida unless there playing out of the SEC.

USC gets ranked number 1 every year. Its ridiculous. Florida should be number 1 until they lose.

Of course the Florida over LSU thing or vice versa can't happen unfairly. They'd play each other in the conf. championship wouldn't they? So at least that would be decided on the field.
