Was thinking that any usmnt players who were academy kids - which is probably most - haven’t played on a bad pitch since they were 10 or so
It’d be like playing on an ncaa/nba court 98% of the time but there also some games you have to play on outdoor concrete courts with chain nets

yeah im going waaay back - 1990-92 lol. We would play on Sat/Sun AFTER the HS football games on Friday and there was no grounds crew.

when i lived in Greenwich Village there were courts on W4th - quasi famous for their pickup games
i would regularly hang out watching those games
halfcourt with chainlink fence about a foot off baseline - i'm not sure the best players on that court would beat an NBA team but they'd give them a **** of a game

same down here- and i would imagine throughout the major cities- "playground legends" that had all the talent, just for whatever reason, not the opportunity.
i can still hear the "clanking" of the chains when ball gets slammed thru hoop.
