Vet G/C Shane Lemieux signed to active roster, Erik McCoy placed on IR (2 Viewers)

I'm thinking Lemieux's elevation is primarily to be the backup center. I would expect the starting guards to be some combination of Young/Saldeveri/Udoh (assuming Ruiz can't go).

That's goin to be "interesting" since the word is that Ruiz likely can't go on Sunday. I wonder what the lineup will be? I got putting Patrick at Center when only McCoy was out, but with Ruiz now out too, I would rather them put Patrick at LG so that at least the left side of the line should be solid. Then I'd put Lemieux/Hergel at Center with Young or Saldiveri at RT.

However, the coaches seem to like Udoh at Guard so he might end up starting and while we might like Hergel, the coaches seem to think Lemieux is ahead of him or Hergel would have been put on the active roster over Lemieux.

It really could just come down to putting the guys out there who have the most experience in the system which could easily mean Saldiveri, Hergel, and Young don't play.

To be fair, Penning and Patrick didn't impress in the preseason either.

We were not running our OL scheme in the preseason. It was just big man block stuff, and that's not our offense.

So Lemieux may be better with the real offense.

That's true, but I just can't get that terrible snap by Lemieux in preseason out of my head.

Underhill said they are going to try him at center this week.

It'd be better if he does well and can start so Patrick can go back to where he was playing best. But we don't have the answer yet.
He made the worst shotgun snap ever in the preseason.....

Saints aren't going to let people know which players are going where.

Basically have the Falcons defense pretty much guessing who their D- lineman are going to be facing.

I'll imagine that the Falcons defensive coordinators going to use the Eagles defense

He's been a dumpster level starter his entire time in the league.
He has also dealt with a ton of injuries, and I am pretty sure he played in a much different scheme in NY. Just give him one start, one chance before everyone claims the sky is falling and the season is over, maybe?

I don't think the season is over and we have guys that could step up. But it's going to be hard replacing 2 interior OL this week assuming Ruiz can't go. I suspect Lemieux is going to be the backup Center so whether he can step up or not probably doesn't matter.

It may be Fuaga, Young, Patrick, Udoh, Penning on the line this week. Hopefully they can all step up and Kubiak can scheme to make them look good. I didn't think there was any chance the OL would look good this year, Kubiak managed that in the first two weeks. Hopefully he can do it again.

Big test time for Derek. Can you carry the team or not?
