The strength of schedule is skewed by playing Carolina twice. The Saints played more teams that finished above .500 last year than the Chiefs did. Parity is a real thing in the NFL with outliers on both ends of the spectrum. The Saints certainly got lucky on the QB's they faced.

This whole easy schedule thing seemed to create unrealistic expectations amongst the fan base last season. No NFL team is going to roll over for the Saints or any other team. If anything, they probably play harder against teams that are on the margin because they know they've got a better chance to get a win. Just my opinion.

It’s perspective. You can also say that Dc4 statically improved to one of the best QBs in the league over the last 5 games. Isn’t it a what have you done for me lately business? You could say that the D improved via FA. Everyone needs to understand this: If your belief system is coming from the media, then you’ve been fooled. The media people, YouTubers, local beat writers, have to create narratives, to get clicks and views, to earn money to buy themselves groceries and pay their electric bills, and to keep their kids cool inside with AC. So if you were one of these people and required clicks and views, would you say a bunch of bland stuff Or would you try to invoke powerful emotions in your readers such as fear and excitement? I’d probably lean to trying to provoke both of those emotions so that I didn’t appear like a doomsday or a sunshine pumper. It’s all about clicks and views. IOW, develop your own opinion, and let the games play. To make it clear, there are reporters that report the news too. And those types have their own value. For example, John Hendrix, SI, reports play by play from the camp days. No hype just news. So there is value reading the medias reports, but 95% is the aforementioned emotion provoking driven word salads.

Sure that makes sense for every team every year but based on last year and the caliber of players brought in and the changes in other teams roster, I think one AT THIS POINT, has to be discouraged as the season approaches. What in the heck is Carr and the offense to do with every position group lacking talent or injured? My feeling is we’re looking at a bottom 5-7 team in 2024.

The wait and see approach is the best way to go about this in my opinion.

The rest of the AFC West finished below .500 - that’s 6/17 games for them too

If the shoe fits. Nah, but seriously, I think it’s important to check ourselves, me included, to make sure you’re not being swayed by manufactured drama compared to real drama. If the TP situation was as bad as it seems the Saints FO would’ve have made a trade by now. TP is a mountain of a guy and he still has the potential to be a RT bookend for the next decade.

A bunch of numbers based on year before numbers doesn't make an NFL schedule easier.

There is no such thing as an easy NFL schedule. If anyone thinks that winning is easy in the NFL then you'll have your head handed back to you in a bucket!

I’m at 60/40 we will have a good season. The talent has been improved. The assistant coaches and offensive system has been improved. Carr is running an offense that gives him every opportunity. On the 40% side we have Allen who I still believe is who his record says he is one of the worst head coaches in nfl history.

SOS is a very NON-indicator of how well a team will do because it's based on the previous yrs record. Every yr a team that was at the bottom improves and every yr a team that was expected to be good is not so good. Miami beat ONE team with a winning record and made the playoffs in a good division. And guess what? Our SOS is not much different than last yr

While I think the defense lacks ballhawks and may be a bit soft up the middle, it's going to be solid to stout and that alone should get a team to .500.

The offense is the wait-and-see. With a new offensive coordinator, I see a lot of growing pains. Hopefully, it will take some time for defenses to adjust to what we're doing different and that will keep us on the plus side. But we won't know how good or bad they are until after the bye.

With the addition of Young and Gay our LBs are now a strong unit. Taylor has embraced his role in the slot. If ML says healthy we may have the best CB duo in the league. Kicking Cam inside and rushing Him , Bresse, Granderson and Young should give QB's nightmares. I see our D finishing a top 5 D
