Week 12 Thurs. Injury Report: Carr’s cleared (1 Viewer)

It doesn’t matter if Carr, Winston, or even Dalton would be starting this weekend. I am not excited about this team at all. Especially after watching the games today. Four of the six teams that played today are better than the Saints.

Loomis messed up letting Payton get out the door and messed up even worse finding his replacement. I find it hard to believe that there was no way that they couldn’t get him to stay or come back after his sabbatical. Money talks

Payton was loyal to Dennis Allen. He said so himself. He could have come back but didn’t want to take the job away from Allen.

When we score 3 in the first half, I don’t wanna hear “he wasn’t healthy”
Wouldn’t be any different than Week 1 last year when Winston went 5/10 for 24 yards at half.

Fans that want Winston are going to ***** when Carr ****s the bed (like against the Vikings) just like fans that want Carr are going to ***** when Winston ****s the bed (like against the Packers).

You say this like Loomis had a choice. Payton had made up his mind.

If anyone sees Carr reading all 3 WR’s before throwing the checkdown, post it up here after the game.

I am certainly not opposed to JW playing, my only grip is why throwing a bomb down the field in quadruple coverage twice in the last 4 minutes of the Vikes game. Don't' know if this was PA's call or JW just being JW

No surprises here.

I've been hard on Carr recently, but I really think the problem is a combination of him and the o-line. Carr was given no time to throw early in the season and was hit a lot. Now he's hearing footsteps as soon as the ball is snapped and looks for the check down option before reading the field.

He sealed 3 games w/ big plays Also has most 4th Q comebacks of all active players (if I’m not mistaken)
I read it was third most since 2017, but not sure if that's only active, or all qbs since that time. The fact that his did this on the regular in prior years is probably a big factor in why the Saints wanted him.

Yeah, if you watched the Detroit game, Goff was hit early and often and the Packers were just abusing the Lions' OL. He started getting happy feet and rushed, making terrible decisions with the ball. The Saints defense needs to do the same to Goff next week.

Carr has never been able to get comfortable in the pocket. In the Dallas game, Dak had a nice pocket more often than not, and had a lot of success throwing the ball.

That said, I think the play calling isn't helping either and the defense can pin their ears back a bit because they have a good idea what's coming.

According to pro-football reference, among active players, he's 3rd. Look who's 5th :hihi:

The thing about 4th quarter comebacks, the more you have, the more your team was losing late in the 4th quarter; and there is no list for 4th qtr comeback failures, they are just losses.

For reference:
Carr has 28 4th qtr comebacks in ~9½ seasons, or ~2.94 4th qtr comebacks per season.
Patrick Mahomes has 13 in ~6½ seasons, or ~2 4th qtr comebacks per season.

One can say Carr better at 4th qtr comebacks than Mahomes.
Or one can say Mahomes doesn't fall behind in the score in the 4th, and the wins speak for themselves.

Yeah, fair points.

Maybe he was that in Vegas, but he hasn't been here. He's been everything but clutch.

The three plays he’s citing happened this season.

It hasn’t all been doom.
