I recall Dez said he would be ready to play around October a couple of weeks back. Should the Saints kick the tires again?

Agree.
To elaborate, I believe that if his tires were worth kicking we would have already seen (or heard) about him running some routes for the coaches in order to see what's really left in the tank. And I'm sure that at least one other team who needs some receiver help would have flown him in for a tryout as well.

I think that ship has sailed.

I say why not. If Sheldon Rankins can recover from his Achilles injury why can't Dez. Besides the Saints aren't getting much WR help from anyone not named Michael Thomas so what would it hurt?

Agreed. I think Dez is hungry to prove himself. I don’t think he was hungry last year.

Youth is still on Butler's side. No one can say for sure if there may be more to his story in the future.
