i am forever a 'last minute' kind of dude...i thought about voting early but never got around to it

went to my polling place this morning at 6am and was done by 6:30...it seems that a lot of you early birds created a good situation for me, so thanks for that

I think my hang up comes that there's an election Day...that's the day the election happens just like Christmas has a day and your birthday is a day. If you die before 2 out of 3 of those things you just miss it.

Personally, I'd like a 2 or 3 day window for in person voting and keep the current rules for early voting that most states have. Expecting 200 million+ people to vote all on the same day would be logistically very difficult. Well over 80 million people voted early this election. If they all voted today, a lot of precients would be completely overwhelmed.

Oregon has been doing mail in voting without many issues for years now and it works really well. I'd much rather get a ballot in the mail, sign and send it in. It's not really novel anymore and this makes it much easier for those who can't make it to a physical location because of work/disability.

Being that I'm deaf, I'm keenly aware of the accessibility challenges people face. And I think voting is a civic duty that should be accessible to everyone who is qualified to vote.

But, hear me out, electing a president for four years is a bit more impactful than missing a birthday party. I have actually celebrated both of your examples early and later because of “things”.

If we can file taxes online we should able to vote online. Would save so much BS.

I came here to say this.

I frankly have become very apathetic about voting in the last 10 or 20 years. Especially in Federal Elections in Louisiana where it's pretty clear who is going to win. But, if online voting were an option, I would vote in every election. I tend to vote in Presidential elections despite knowing that it really makes no difference but if we want something close to real democracy, we really need to find a way to vote online.
