The Damned were the first U.K. punk band to release a single, album and tour the States in 1977. Their first debut album, was produced by Pink Floyd’s Nick Mason, and recorded at Floyd’s home-built London studio, Britannia Row in early 1978.Actually REM started in 1980 and released Radio Free Europe in 1981. It was early 1981 that we saw them—I think.
The Damned broke up in 1977 but reformed in 1979 without Brian James, who went on to form The Lords of the New Church with Stiv Bators in 1982.
The Black Album in 1980 still remains The Damned’s best album IMHO. They broke up again in 1985 or 86
I missed Black Flag. They played The 9:30 club in DC but I was never able to make one of their shows.
When I was a young teen there was a youth social every weekend at the base youth gym near my house. Now, I was definitely not the "youth social" type of kid, but where better to brush up and show off my breaking skills than a basketball gym full of young AF brats?I was an adult when I found out why it was called break dancing. I always thought it was because of the moves, but it's because of the music.

The most 80s song about the 90s
Killer album for sure. The synths on 1999 are very 80s and thats what made me think of it. I just miss that sound in general. I know there were a lot of great songs from every genre produced in the 80s, but the pop music back then was the best. 80s night at a dance club is always the most fun.If you're going prince you have to go purple rain. One of the first albums I bought with my own money.
