They're fighting to ensure that people waste electricity and demanding to be reimbursed for electricity that isn't sold when people become more efficient.

Why don't they just lobby for a Bitcoin farm or an AI facility to move in if they want to waste energy?

I'm sure this is a great, fascinating story that's informative and detail-oriented.

For What It's Worth and what that is, isn't exactly clear.

This is like the grocery stores complaining that your bananas don’t go bad the instant you leave the store and demanding you buy twice as many to make up profits.

Because Bitcoin is a very turbulent, highly fluctuating form of crypto-currency to invest in that can just as easily lose you tens of millions of dollars one day as it'll gain them. It's consistently unpredictable and still relatively new, as is AI.

This all revolves around the profit motive and unmanageable corporate greed in that these utility companies are upset costumers aren't frivously wasting energy on a high basis and some people are being a bit smarter when it comes to being energy efficient or using better conservation methods.

I mean, this isn't the thread topic I was expecting.
Perhaps I'm wrong but I don't think a conversation topic of that nature would be allowed on EE, unless it was strictly a medical problem or another similar related issue.

It was a joke. Lol.
I know. That still doesn't mean EE would ever allow a conversation topic of that nature to be discussed unless it was strictly medical-related.

You can have some wit or deadpan "straight man" hyperbole mixed in with jokes some times, Dave.

FWIW, have you ever seen the old Adult Swim adult animated series Boondocks that aired between 2005-2014? That sort of series could not be shown today because it would be immensely difficult too controversial for too groups to handle today.

Dave’s a mod - I think he has a handle on what is/n’t allowed
