For me one of the main things I’ve noticed is our receivers look open. What I mean is the last year or two SP was here and the years after he left it always seemed like accurate passing was the key because our WRs always had DBs stuck to them like glue. It was always frustrating because the other teams WRs always looked open. This year whether it’s the motion or it’s the route design our players have 3 to 5 steps on the DBs so a ball a little behind or not perfect is still catchable. It’s not like the players are different, they are just open.

everything looks easy. thats the only way i can respond without making a 5,000 word response. name a position, and the execution looks 1000x easier. if i had to pick the biggest change its the o-line. every snap is like a highlight reel. its truly wild.

Last year I could see what the play was by the formation and who was on the field. This year it's much more unpredictable.

Carr's reads are on time. I actually think Pete had poorly timed concepts. Meaning the footwork would have Carr looking at receiver X when Y came open. Shanahan has such perfectly timed plays that even the depth of the receivers when they line up is set so they come open at the perfect step. Kubiak has clearly picked this up from his work in SF.

I’m sure after Oayton left the attention to detail waned. Spacing was so important in Payton’s offense and that critical eye wasn’t there w/ Pete.

I saw a clip the other day where Shaheed waited a beat after the snap before he ran his route so that the route combination with Olave happened at the exact right time and left Olave open. The play would not have worked if Shaheed had just started his route at the snap. That can only come from an OC who realizes that he needs to slow Shaheed down for the play to work. That seems like amazing attention to detail.

For me its expectations, we knew we had some talented players, talented players that could probably go to another team and shine, but they was never coached to play at a high level. Under Pete and to some extent under Payton, alot of the guys looked lost, its basically like their was no real plan each week.

Motion, motion and more motion! I know it’s a lot more to it than that, but it’s really fun to watch our offense again!

That screen to Kamara was so simple that only a genius can come up with that kind of design!

The poise and synchronization of the entire offense.

Recall when Pete stated he minimized motion because he feared false starts? I think we have had one false start on Foster. And, even with all the perimeter runs I can recall maybe one offensive holding call.

These guys know their responsibilities and not having the QB setting the protections and constantly getting in and out of plays at the line has the offense playing fast and confident. Just beautiful.

The TEs are being used old school. Their blocking on run plays has really helped with our lines great start….the WRs too….but I’m giving love to our TEs in this post. Whodat

Btw….the posts in this thread are great at what they are pointing out. :)
