I think the Deshaun Watson race was pretty chaotic. I was also kind of fun, thoug a little contentious. Never before did I see the team putting that much into landing a single player. It was a wild ride.

Yep. I remember that well. We were all outraged and shocked but a few "Saints fans" were like, "It's our fault! This is what happens when you cheat. Don't blame Goodell." God those people were the worst. If they were troll accounts then well done, mission accomplished.

And then of course the fall out from the no call was awful. It was just shared misery. Helpless, hopeless, and truly wronged. That was rough.

And I'll throw in the last few months of Swimmer in there as well. That was a really weird time for the SSF.

Don’t think anything can compare to the day we drafted Ricky Williams.

I remember getting up in the morning and seeing profootballtalk (talk at the time) reporting that Indy was likely taking Edgerring James. From there, everything was bonkers.

Can recall the 2018 NFCCG aftermath. Rightfully so. That was a trainwreck & a half.

The next day NFL fans of every other team in this area who knew I’m a Saints fan said “You guys were ****** robbed. That stunk!” At work, the gym, on my Facebook page, everywhere.

I need a project and I like to go through game thread forum and get these amazing moments.

We had one back in the 2000's where we would move epic threads to a certain board in order to preserve them, and it was stored as part of the old SR archives site where entire site was backed up to from 2000-2006. We kept a link to that archive for years until that database was destroyed during a hosting move. Too bad! There was a lot of great memories that went away when that happened. I am still upset with that hosting service over that.

I don't remember what we called that specific board, but it's certainly possible to create a board like that.

I threw and broke my phone after the 2011 9’ers game. Not my brightest moment.

In my younger years I was known to punch, kick, and break a lot of things over Saints games. Thankfully I have mellowed out since then and my wallet thanks me. For 2 of the more recent moments:

1. 2011 Saints/49ers - I had a friend over to watch but I didn't break anything and I don't really even recall cursing that much. I remember I was on my feet at the end and when Smith waltzed down the sideline I just put my head down on the stairs in disbelief. And probably exhaustion from the up and down ending lol.

2. Minny Miracle - I watched it with my wife and 2 daughters. When that happened I just sat there with my mouth open and kept saying "What just happened...."

3. Rams no-call - This was the last time I was super angry over a Saints game. I also watched this one with my family. I remember just sitting there calmly and waiting for the flag. No flag. I still just KNEW there would be a late one come out and things would be made right so I patiently waited. After it was obvious there would be no flag. I unleashed a rabid series of unintelligible curse words because I knew at that point the era was over and the NFL had won. That was when I made the post saying that No-Call just closed the chapter on this era of the Saints. And I have hated the NFL ever since.

The first thing that came to mind was actually Ditka trading the draft for Ricky Williams in 1999. This forum was insane!!! Remember it like yesterday, saintsreport still in its infancy.

I’m sure you’re correct, so long ago. Only a running back away from a Super Bowl with the days of Mario Bates and Lamar Smith . Oh well, only 10 more years was well worth the wait. To me the memories and bad years leading to 2009 makes reaching the mountain top all the sweeter. I’m hoping in a few years when we hoist another Lombardi we will be laughing about the Dennis Allen years.
