What's the New Complaint? (12 Viewers)

FWIW, Cowboys fans are going to be your best source for negativity here. They have to wrestle with the cognitive dissonance of letting him go and watching the Eagles win a Super Bowl with him. They will have the conspiracies and wild logic figured out ----

Unless Loomis changes his evaluation of the team as shown by his public statements and actions over the past few years and his methods for building team, yep, it doesn't matter.

Now the new coach may have a different view of the state of the team--we are not very talented, we need a major rebuild, we need to stop extending contracts of older players, we need to trading away future and multiple draft picks.

But yes, the key person is the one charting the future direction of the franchise. If it is the new head coach who will be our de facto general manager as was Payton, then this hiring is incredibly important. If it is a continuation of the last three years, then good luck to all of us.

I read somewhere that Loomis has been privately telling coaching candidates that he knows the roster is totally FUBAR and will take a few years to get straight, which is encouraging.

I have no idea if it's true, but I am choosing to believe it for now.

We'll know for sure after the draft and what sort of approach the Saints take - do they try to accumulate picks to plug all the holes/rebuild depth or trade up for a smaller number of high-SPARQ prospects.

I'm not a Loomis fan, but I think his group made a good decision (if KM is indeed our next HC).....and I do think KM will likely be given the same or similar authority as CSP.....just anxious to hear the announcement, the rest is BS....

Now that our head coach will have won a Superbowl as the OC of another team, I'm assuming this place needs something to whine about. Is he no longer "hungry"? Does he no longer have "that dawg in him"? Is that what we're going with now? I just want to get on board at the start of this thing.
So you've gone from policing how everyone thinks in every other thread to creating a thread about a made up issue that you can pre argue? I think you might need to go for a walk.

It's pretty amazing when you think about the fact that Mickey Loomis and the Saints were able to recruit the top offensive coordinator in the league who just won a Super Bowl.
Mickey Loomis didn't recruit him, they got stuck with him because all of their top choices backed out on him.

naive opinion. only Glenn backed out on Saints. And you don't really know how the Saints had Glenn and Moore ranked against each other.

Brady and McCarthy and Kingsbury all knew they weren't the top dawg in the race.

It's all good, McCarthy ran for the Cheetos bag soon as he learned he could lose the job to the OC he ran off. Best to not have picked up McCarthy from the The Star's dumpster. Now we get the coach right off the Lombardi stand.

We've had to wait for our coach like he's a new Romanian baby (and he's still not official.)

If Loomis has been telling our head-coach prospects that he knows we need to do things differently and a rebuild, then good for him. It is a big step in the right direction. But he will need to communicate the need for patience to the general public.

Kellen Moore is only part of the solution. The way the cap is managed and how the draft goes will show us a lot about the next era of Saints football. I hope it looks much different than the last few years have. If it looks the same, that will be my complaint.
