When was the last time you got a raise and who initiated it? What percentage increase was it? Lastly, how often do you (personally) expect a raise or think you deserve a raise? By raise I mean anytime type of pay increase; merit, cost of living, or any other.

Jan 6. 3% yearly increase. I got another one in November by asking. It was a 7%.

Yearly.. we don't get cost of living increases, so a yearly raise IMO is that.

I switched to a new job in April, so I guess that was a raise. But at my employment before the move we were given raises yearly, every July 1.

Missed the second part:

If the company is doing well and making a profit I'd hope to get a raise yearly, in order to stay with inflation at least. If you're losing money and times are tight, I'm just happy to be employed.

BS.."cost of living" raises can be taken away or reduced to next to nothing just like that. Don't take them for granted. I haven't gotten a significant raise in 5 years. The closer you get to 100 grand a year the harder it is to get there.

5 years. if it wasnt for ten to fifteen hours of overtime every week i'd never make it.

2 in the last 4 months. 13% and then 3.5% I just left and came back 3 months later. That's how the game is played.

I personally don't buy the company's hard times bs. If it is, sorry, I'll find a more profitable company. I have my own goals.

Last summer I turned in my resignation at HP to go to another company. Shockingly, HP made a counter offer that gave me a 25% pay increase with two months of my salary as a retention bonus. I also got veto power over the projects I'm assigned to.

Before I started looking, I had a major role in securing TWO multi million dollar contracts. Right now I'm on an engagement to save a contract worth 12million a year. I know I could actually get more than I'm currently making but I'm pretty happy with what HP did last summer. The only downside (and it is a minor one) is that I'm now at the top of the pay scale for my position. I have to get a promotion in order to make more. My boss has set a clearly defined road map for that. I intend to get that promotion before the end of the year.

My company does yearly performance reviews in October. I got a 15% raise. Before that it had been two years since I got a raise because the company froze raises because of the economy.

New job gave a nice bump in march and then another one at my first review a few months later - otherwise I look for annual

got a 4 grand raise in may and a 6 grand raise this month. but they also let my co worker go and no im a a one man unit.
