BS.."cost of living" raises can be taken away or reduced to next to nothing just like that. Don't take them for granted. I haven't gotten a significant raise in 5 years. The closer you get to 100 grand a year the harder it is to get there.

Good thing I'm not close to 100 grand. I have something to look forward to every year.

Now that I am self-employed my raises are up to me.

We get an annual performance review by our Supervisors at the end of the fiscal year (March for us), and based on that review we get an increase of up to 3.5% of our base pay.

i teach at a public charter
so (if i remember my math) a 10% increase of nothing is the same as a 50% increase of nothing
(just checked with my colleagues on the 3rd floor and they backed me up)
so i'm gonna say i got a 2000% raise

23% raise when I got my new job last May. Hired on the spot.

Standby pay increased from $1.30/hr to $1.50/hr in July.

I'll be maxed out in hourly wage after my next increase in May. I'd better get used to what I'm earning, or find a new career path.

Started a new job at Stennis last year making more per hour but lost out on 10 hrs week overtime, but not near the stress. Missed out on yearly review because started to late but got a new hire adjustment increase. This year they put a freeze on raises due to new contract talks

I have not even had COLA for 6 years whel my insurance rates have gone up a bit less than 3000 a year in that same timespan.

last july, 7%. i made the mistake of going back to school a year and a half ago to finish out my degree. it cost me a 35% raise by interfering with moving to a different job a few months back. degrees really aren't worth squat in IT unless you are getting started, but my wife and mom are nags. it's ok, i still make more than my wife does with her masters and it irritates her. i win!

i'm ok with what i make but realistically i'd make a lot more elsewhere. plus i recently got a semi-raise, just not monetarily. a few people quit and my duties changed drastically from crap i didn't know, to systems i know well. so i'm satisfied.
