Question Which Teams Do You Prefer To Win This Week? (Edit: Week 3) (1 Viewer)

Good luck with TB losing to Den. Broncos are looking like one of the worst teams in the NFL.

So many terrible Qbs in the league now, Caleb, Young, Nix, Dan Jones, Levis, Fields, Watson. Probably one or two others i cant think of for now

Prefer the Rams to win for HFA but they are not winning that game.

Yeah, I was a bit torn on this one. I could have gone either way, but I leaned this way. Anybody want to help me see it more clearly the other way around? Go for it!

Prefer the Rams to lose as much as possible while without Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua. The Rams could get hot down the stretch especially if they can get those two guys back healthy. Being down 0-2 to start the season is not an insurmountable hole to climb out of. 2 Superbowl champs have done so. But no team has ever done it down 0-3 and the odds of even making the playoffs starting a season with 3 losses is one against all odds. A loss to the 49ers Sunday would almost be considered a knockout punch in game 3 of the season. I'd prefer them to play a spoiler role in their own division against the other three teams later in the season.

The 49ers will compete for a playoff spot either as a wildcard or by winning the division. They have too much talent and are coached well enough that it's hard to imagine that they won't be in the picture at the end of the year. The Saints already have a one game lead on them in the conference. Heck, they don't even lead their own division. The Hags are off to a good start and the Cardinal Sinners may have found the best player in the 2024 draft in Marvin Harison, Jr. They could make some noise this year. Hopefully, It will only be within the NFC West. As for as the 9ers, outside of their division, they play NE, KC, DAL, TB, GB, BUF, CHI, MIA, and DET.

Now, I could be seeing this all wrong. But it's just my early season take on what I think would best favor the Saints in the long run. The Saints have their chance at home to roast the Lams in week 13. The few veterans remaining from the no-call 2018 season will get the younger guys on board for what this one means to them.

As far as HFA, the Saints are 1 of 4 undefeated teams in the NFC after 2 games. One of those is TB. At this point the Saints control their destiny both in the division and the conference. Getting a win this Sunday will go a long way to staying on top and keeping pace with the other frontrunners.

Thanks @saintmike23 for chiming in brother!

I didn't say I thought Denver would beat TB, I said that's who I preferred to win. Luck or not, I'll take it. I surely wouldn't have bet on it happening.

I would take Fields off your Terrible List of QBs in the league. I think he's gotten a bad rap from his stint with the Bears. Bad teams and bad coaching 1st 3 years.

Now, I'm not saying he doesn't have room for improvement. There's plenty room for improvement for Fields. As a pure passer he has been borderline terrible in the past. Accuracy, seeing the entire field, and taking off running without going through all the progressions were flaws in his game. As a running QB he's been more than outstanding. He actually holds several Bears Franchise Records and a few NFL Records. That shouldn't be overlooked and deemed inconsequential when evaluating his potential as a starting QB. He's still young and has gained valuable experience as a starter already in the league. He has a lot of talent in his body.

The Bears essentially dumped Fields, and the Steelers picked him up for peanuts on a flyer. This could look like a downright steal before the season is over. With Russ anointed as the starter before either had even put a practice jersey on, Fields was expected an afterthought this season riding the bench and becoming a free agent in 2025. Instead, Russ has been injured and it has opened the door for Fields to start the season. While his play hasn't been spectacular through the first 3 games, it can't be discounted that he has been less errant and has managed the team to a 3-0 start, one of only 5 NFL teams undefeated to this point. The Steelers currently have a two-game lead in their division on the Ravens and the Browns and a three-game lead over the Bengals. It's early but that's a great start.

In his first season away from the Bears Fields has not only improved upon winning, but his completion rate has also moved up 13% over his career numbers, from 60.3% to 73.3%. That's moving from sub-par to exceptional in just his first 3 games on a new team in a new system. His QBR has also jumped 13% from 82.3 to 95.3.

Russ has begun practicing this week and may be deemed healthy enough to play. It would seem like the right thing for Tomlin to do is to stay with Fields as long as they continue to win. He may, and he may not. He could simply have a quick hook on Fields should he have a bad outing. On the other hand, the same could be said about Wilson should he come in and stink it up. It would seem that the Steelers can play their hand either way without an allegiance to either QB. That's actually not a bad situation to be in at this point. It may not be the best, but it could be worse. We may see a merry go round situation throughout the year in Pitt.

Fields is getting better for sure now. I want him to keep Russ on the bench.

As for the first part I was hoping TB would lose but I didn't think Denver stood a chance
