The NFL 2024 season is now entering Week 14. Some teams have 5 games left to play while others only have 4 games left to play this season. 28 of the 32 teams still have postseason chances although some are very slim. After the conclusion of Week 13 only two teams (Chiefs / Bills) have punched their ticket into the postseason. After Week 14 several teams will be eliminated from the postseason while a few others will claim a spot. It all gets started tonight!
Teams on BYE this week: Ravens, Broncos, Texans, Colts, Patriots, and Commanders
Thursday Night Football
GB (9-3) @ DET (11-1) - The week gets started with an NFC North matchup with the outcome having a major bearing on the division. The Lions can clinch a playoff berth with a win or a tie tonight. The Packers are currently the 6th Seed in the NFC. They are two games behind DET and one game behind MIN in their division. I'm expecting all 3 teams to make the playoffs this season. Strongest NFC division this season. I like the Lions and their rags to riches of late.
Sunday Noon Games
NYJ (3-9) @ MIA (5-7) - An AFC East matchup. The Jets will try to play the spoiler role while the Fins are still in the hunt on the bubble currently as the 9th Seed in the AFC. The Bills have already clinched this division. Dolphins for me.
CLE (3-9) @ PIT (9-3) - An AFC North rematch from less than two weeks ago. The Steelers will not want to get swept by the Browns as they are fighting to hold their 1st place position in the division. Steelers for me in this one.
JAX (2-10) @ TEN (3-9) - An AFC South matchup of the bottom feeders. More like the Turlet Bowl. Football fans within both markets will probably be watching other games instead of this one. If I have to pick one I'd prefer it to be TEN.
CAR (3-9) @ PHI (10-2) - It's rare that I'd prefer a Saints division foe to win a game but that's the case in this one. No love for the Iggles. Worsen the Pansies draft position with a win. That's what I'm talkin' bout!
LV (2-10) @ TB (6-6) - Not a second thought here. Hopefully the Raidahs won't be Aidan n Abettin this week and instead will put a Maxximum Black Eye on the the Pewter Boys. The Vegas fellas have been behind the eight ball as of late losing their last 8 games in a row. However, they did play inspiring ball last week and almost pulled off a major upset against the Chiefs. Hopefully they bring that energy this week and break their losing streak. The Yuks are riding a two-game winning streak coming off of a four-game losing streak. This would be a good time to change it up again. Go Raiders!
ATL (6-6) @ MIN (10-2) - The Clowns are currently riding a 3 game losing streak. The Queens are currently riding a 5 game winning streak. Minny should be giving a maximum effort this week to stay ahead of GB and keep pace with the Lions. Should GB beat DET the Yikings could move into a tie for 1st Place in the NFC North with a win over the Clowns. Not very often will Saints fans be rooting for a MinnySoda victory but this is one of those times. Purple!
NO (4-8) @ NYG (2-10) - The G-men have already been officially eliminated from the post season and are playing musical chairs with their QBs after releasing their franchise QB and firing their HC earlier this season. At this point they will be playing for pride and trying to put some individual film on tape. The Saints are hanging on to post season hopes by a thread, but they still have a chance, slim as it may be. They should be playing for more than pride. Who Dat!
Sunday Afternoon Games
SEA (7-5) @ ARZ (6-6) - An NFC West matchup that could knot the lead up for the division or see Hawks take the lead. The Lams and the Whiners or still in contention. I'd prefer to see Zona win this division this year. Go Red Birds!
BUF (10-2) @ LAR (6-6) - The Bills have looked like one of the better teams in the league this year and have already clinched a post season berth. They won't be resting on their laurels as a win will not only clinch their division but will keep them in line for a 1st round bye in the playoffs. The Rams are fighting for a playoff spot of their own whether it be their division or a wildcard. I'd prefer to see the Bills romp in this one and put the Lams down. Go Bills!
CHI (4-8) @ SF (5-7) - Both of these teams have long odds of making the post season but there's still a path for both. The Whiners are the better team but have had a hard time putting wins together this season. Go Bears!
Sunday Night Football
LAC (8-4) @ KC (11-1) - An AFC West matchup with the two front runners in the best division in the AFC. The Bolts have been reCharged playing Harball. The Cheets have the best record in the league but have looked vulnerable in several games this year. I'd prefer someone else to hoist the Lombardi this time around. This would be a good week to expose the chinks in the Chiefs armour. I'd prefer to see the Chargers get a win in this one.
Monday Night Football
CIN (4-8) @ DAL (5-7) - This is an easy one. Give Jerrah another home loss while breathing life into the Bengals post season. Burrow and Chase have been on fire this year but their defense continues to let them down. Go Cats Go!
Anyone see it differently? Let me know your thoughts.
