A bit off topic, but do you believe Darnold is a starter in this league? Or was his turnaround something else? 2024 was undoubtedly his best ever career wise. Cannot argue with his stats 361 of 545 passing and 4320 yds 35:12 TD:INT... IDK those numbers are better than 3/4 of the league.
I think he is just somewhere around 15-20. Ceiling was probably this year, Jets years are his floor

I didn't bother to waste my time watching these two garbage franchises, but I love that the Vikings lost in humiliating fashion. Ahahahahaha. Couldn't happen to a more deserving group of fans.

I am sure they will screech about how the Rams cheated, somehow, for the next 15 years.

Yeah they go through so much torture. Many times over, they get a miracle qb. Then clock strikes playoffs and Minny turns back.into a pumpkin
Kirk Cousins was probably their best, most consistent Pro Bowl QB in nearly two.decades since Daunte Culpepper's 5-year outstanding run (2000-04) that quickly fell apart due to an aging roster, injuries and well his biggest, most effective offensive weapon left via FA to Oakland after the 2004 season and after his devastating knee injury, he lost his mobility and never recovered his confidence. I don't include Brett Favre on this list because he only played in Minnesota for two seasons and despite his excellent 2009 season, he wasnt nearly the long-term solution at QB that Cousins was for 6 seasons as Vikings starter.

Since Fran Tarkenton's retirement 46 years ago, the quality and efficiency of most Vikings QB's has ranged from decent-to-good when focused/but not great (Tommy Kramer (couldve been a lot better if he hadn't had his substance abuse issues), mediocre QB's that could be streaky at times (Wade Wilson, young, unpolished Rich Gannon), and older, reliable former Pro Bowl QB's with some momentum left in the tank (Jim McMahon, Warren Moon), or former elite, dual-threat QB's that happen to have one magical season left in them (Randall Cunningham) but due to inept, over-cautious in-game coaching decisions, and maybe seriously underestimating Atlanta pre-1998 NFCCG, that would-be MVP-CALIBER season was lost or blown.

As great and legendary of a HOF HC Bud Grant was, I do think his teams' lack of preparation, focus, and poor game-planning were partly the reason why Minnesota lost 4 Super Bowls from 1969-76 even with rosters LOADED with future HOF talent on both sides of the ball. I think Matt Blair is one key, determinative piece of those 1970's and early 80's Vikings defenses that's been way over-looked and IMHO, I think he's a HOFer along with Jim Marshall. They can't be holding one bad, terrible "wrong way" play against him @ Niners in 1964 as the reason why. If it is, it's one of the stupidest, most asinine reasons I could imagine. Jim Marshall was the Brett Favre of defensive linemen in that he played nearly every game for 20 seasons.

Cameron Jordan's father, Steve, was a 4-5x Pro Bowl TE for 13 seasons in Minnesota so outstanding, superb play kind of runs in the Jordan family and Cam inherited his father's longevity and football saaviness. His father is his biggest fan when he's not playing against his old team.

The Vikings had their two biggest games of the season back to back. Detroit for the 1 seed and a playoff game.

They scored 18 points and gave up 58.

Hi Saints Fans!

This year we were also the first wild card team with 14 wins and what a game that was!

I almost didn't stay up for the whole thing, but we eventually scored our first TD in 2-3 weeks, so I had to stay up for the whole ending.

For those of you hoping we could beat the Rams, I'm sorry. (But I don't have any control over the outcomes so I can't really take the blame (or credit had they won).

Feel bad for Sam Darnold. Kid was probably going to cash in, but he found his kryptonite over the last 8-9 days.

This is playoff loss #32 for Minnesota (without a Super Bowl win) and may fall into my worst top 10 only because we are now the first 14 win team to go winless in the playoffs.
In 2022 we were the first 13 win team to go winless in the playoffs.

I'll continue to check in here and there to see how you all are doing. We don't play you guys next year, but looks like we get the Falcons, so maybe we can help you out there. We'll have to hope for the playoffs or else we'll meet again in New Orleans in 2026.

If you get bored, you can read through our updated log of misery a poster on twitter put together for Minnesota sports. (Many of those go deeper than the sentence on the sheet).

Take care!

Ah, well. In the vein of Humphrey Bogart at the end of Casablanca....

....you'll always have 1987. (Still six inches away, but who's measuring, right?) (y) :ROFLMAO:

It was good seeing you again, you are a class act. .maybe someday you will get that Superbowl.

Could be.
But odds seem against it.

We've tried every route.
15-1 dominant team to several 9-7 type Cinderella runs.
It's just not meant to be.
Maybe next year we try for the #33 time.

If it happens, we'll enjoy it.

As Miley Cyrus would say:

There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose
Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb
