Assuming he is the hire, who do you ask think he would bring in as OC or DC? Who has he worked with in the past that he could bring in? Who would y’all like to see him bring in for these positions? I read somewhere he could bring the DC from Dallas, Mike Zimmer? Thoughts?

Everybody talking about McCarthy being old school and not progressive but if he chooses a progressive OC paired with Rattler or a future exciting QB, maybe the Saints could be a future contender
McCarthy may be the leader of men we are looking for.

His offensive staff is fairly young, with former players (Scott Tolzien) and coaches sons in Brian Schotenhiemer and Chase Haslett.

It wouldnt really matter who that dude would bring in as the OC, because Mccarthy would most likely call the plays. The hire would have the OC title, but not the actual OC duties. Just like Wood being our “DC” when DA was calling the actual plays.

On that note, i hope it’s NOT Mccarthy. That dude was on teams w/talent across the board, especially at QB. He had AR12, then Dak. Hate on Dak, but that dude is multiple levels better than the guys we have at QB. McCarthy has never really evolved on O & seems to be the same coach he was in the mid 2000s. This fact has always been masked by the talent of his QBs. I hope the HC hire is someone w/modern day takes on football.

Out of the candidates available I’m actually happy if Mike gets the gig, however I do get the concern you have. Valid imo.

Probably Brian Shottenheimer

Doubt it. Right now he’s being talked about as a potential head coach in Dallas or OC for a defensive head coach. It sounds like Jerry wants to pick the coaching staff and he seems to be a part of it.

He had Bones Fassel as well but the titans just hired him away.

Maybe you should check the offensive ranking in 22 and 23 . Top 10 in 22 and top 5 in 23 and lead the league in PPG in 23. And that's with Rush @ starting QB for 5 games in 22
