Drew Brees states his case as the best quarterback in fantasy football. Donovan McNabb was without question the most valuable starter in the first half of the season and LaDainian Tomlinson has scored more than Wilt Chamberlain (both on and off the court), but we have to throw the name Drew Brees into the mix when we discuss MVP candidates. The underrated quarterback threw for 349 yards and two touchdowns in a 31-13 win over the Atlanta Falcons to continue a streak of six starts that have been no short of incredible.

Brees has thrown for a combined 2,229 yards and 14 touchdowns in those starts -- that's an average of 371.5 yards and 2.3 scores -- and it includes five performances with 300-plus yards and one with 500-plus yards. To further hammer home how 'out of this world' his numbers have been since October, consider that Brees has thrown for 543 more yards than the combined numbers of Peyton Manning in his past six overall starts.

With contests versus San Francisco, Washington and the New York Giants still left on the schedule, Brees will be the reason that countless owners reach the culmination of their fantasy football hopes and dreams.
