Why do tight ends kill us.... (1 Viewer)

Would you care to explain the other 9 catches for 109 yards (of the remaining 250 passing yards for the Eagles) or are you going to pretend one catch was the extent of the damage he did to our defense today.
I’m not pretending anything. Stop acting Iike the other team isn’t going to catch a single pass. If your going to bring up his catches, bring up his drops.

Even then none of it matters. In the moment, take the lead 1:05 left. You make some plays on defence catch a bad break on hands to face. Line up, and of course your looking at TE, but unfortunately they all wound up into a 2 man traffic jam.

Call it what it is, a lucky play. That TE your taking about didn’t catch’s truly contested pass all night. He got lucky his rub route worked. By definition of that scheme, your forcing a D into a mistake, what’s worse is somehow 3 got caught in it.

His drops? Lucky plays? He caught 10 of his 11 targets for 170 yards?

THIS~! Where are or did the throws to TEs go? Where did all of those confusing pre-snap motions go? Losing Mcoy causing the shift of OL 1st Team players hurt badly , allowed penetration and Carr couldn't/ didn't FIND those TEs and relased backs with any sort of clarity. Just BTW; Wondering WHY Jamal Williams didn't alternate to give Alvin a chance to regain his strength and breath? Lot's of ?s and WE ALL KNOW not having Taysom was a killer to Klint's scheme also~! Too much and maybe more......Our SAINTS just didn't seem as FAST as in the first 2 weeks to me. What do you al think?
Our TE’s have consistently been bad. Many here just refuse to see it.

A drop is a drop, number one. Number two your working off stats that seem to show you didn’t watch the game.

What’s your problem?

Are you some radio fan that likes to have opinions without seeing the game? Anyone with a brain or played an ounce of significant football knows what happened there was a bad break,

Doesn’t mean that it doesn’t suck to lose, but don’t argue with me over some stat line unless you saw the game and if you saw the game and felt like that wasn’t a bad break, then I know pretty well the kind of pressure you have had in your life.

The D did outstanding, the O took the lead when needed in a huge response to adversity, the D at the end caught a bad break plain and simple.

You may not like it but that’s the truth.

Did our TE’s do anything? Maybe I missed it. They’re usually a no show….saw one of the Saints beat writers even mention that we need a lot more from our TE’s….that surprised me as they usually carry the water. (The beat writers)
Saints TEs were MIA--JJ no targets, no catches,
Foster 2 targets, 1 catch 2yards
Were getting pushed blocking all day.
TE room is below average, very below average today

Dallas Goedert:

Game 1 -- 4 catches 31 yards
Game 2 -- 3 catches 38 yards

Why does this continue to be a problem year after year?

It's infuriating.
I think that aside from end of half end of game situations the defense is great. Maybe (truly don’t know) the scheme DA runs leaves the TE’s too much space?

I watched the entire game. Every single one of the 460 YARDS they gave up, including the 170 YARDS they gave up to the Philly TE, which is the topic of this thread. I also watched as they couldn't get off the field including the more than 12 minutes out of 15 they spent on the field in the 2nd quarter. All of that happened while they knew damned well our offense was going to struggle without our starting Center.

They're like Saints Kryptonite...

I remember against SF, Kittle killed us on a long one to win the game...
We have given up big plays to TEs over the years. It’s another weak spot on D and it’s because 6’5 260lb guys that run in the 4.5-4.6 range guys can be a matchup problem.

Carr had Foster open for a nice gain when he also beat man coverage, but pressure up the middle and the pass got batted. Dont blame the TEs.
