Anyone a little surprised Wil Lutz doesn't have a new multi-year contract yet? Yes, he is a restricted free agent... but that won't stop other teams from making an offer. in the meantime, the Saints cannot afford to do a 1st round or 2nd round or 3 round tender. Those kind of tenders are a 1-year contact. And Lutz only needs 1 more year to become an unrestricted free agent. So it's either going to be a multi-year contract for a top-5 kicker or we might be chewing on our fingernails until something happens.

PAY THE MAN!!!! Seriously though, with the way Sean has had issues with kickers that is a head scratcher. Maybe they feel he will kick better for a contract or maybe it's basically done and we just haven't heard about it yet. Hoping for the latter.

Surprised? Loomis didn't negotiate with Brees until the last minute. The Saints rarely do anything until they have to do it. Loomis is a cap wizard but I I question the way he handles negotiations.

I don’t think Sean Payton is quite ready to go back to kicker woes. Pay the man!

Is it Loomis or the agent? Some agents are notorious for waiting until the last minute to actually start true negotiations in order to gain leverage over the team.

This. I'm sure he and his agent want to get offers from other teams before signing. It will only increase what he gets. Wouldn't make sense not to.

I wouldn't worry, Mickey likes to let other teams offer to see the value. Then he pays them that offer.

Kind of smart when you look at it. Doesnt really take the risk of offending someone by low balling them. Doesnt take the risk of paying them more then he should.

He just let's other teams set the market for our RFA's
