Wild draft trade idea

So one solid point is brought up. Maybe next year Saints should consider trading their first round pick TO HAVE A SHOT AT ARCH in 2027.

The key here is to figure what team needs a QB and will have a bad year in 2026.

These teams will be looking for a QB after 26
Jets
Browns
Colts when Richardson/Jones are exposed.
Raiders

And here's a surprise team that might have a losing year in 26.
Lions. They just lost their OC and DC and the rest of their division has caught up. Add in the revisionist history and how Lions are at the cellar of their division more often than not when the other teams are good. Another thing to note is Goff gets exposed in the next couple of years.

Study the team that is likely to be hit the most by lack of QB production. If not QB, then a team not likely to be good because of too many needs or coming off a playoff year due to defenses not figuring the QB out(like maybe Shedeur and Giants). We very well could get the top pick and we got the NFL's best player for the next decade.

I can see with the current WRs and the current draft.. now this is a shot in the dark... lol

Brandon Aiyuk is someone 49ers cant keep
they pick two places behind us.

I believe that Brandon Aiyuk would round out our WR room; thats why we have such a large amount of cap space.

AGAIN this is just an opinion... but I feel this could happen, and I feel this could be us trading back 2 spots then grabbing a TE in the 1st round.

I seeing our 1st round being

Brandon Aiyuk and Tyler Warren

A 1st rd pick in 2026 and a 3rd in 2027....
With this year's draft being so subpar....
I would do this deal provided the top guy on our boards isn't still there at 9

Saints need REALLY good players not a bunch of okay guys.

Top 10 pick is gold and a great opportunity to land a really good player.

I'm not endorsing this trade at all, but wanted to point out that 2 draft picks in the first round of next year's draft is absolutely better than 1st rounder in this year draft even without knowing where in the first round the 2 picks year will be.

This is just not a good draft to have a top 10 pick in. Outside of Hunter, Carter and Jeanty and MAYBE Graham, the rest of the top players in this draft would have slid into the teens last year. Unless you can grab one of those 3, you're really not getting top 10 value. Usually you're thinking you can get a perennial probowler with a top 10 pick. I have to think this year, teams are just hoping they get a good starter with that same pick. The value just isn't there this year.

Amen... a 1000 times Amen. That's been my mantra for years... Especially this time of year when all the draft nicks come out wanting us to trade down and trade down and get a lot of pics... Makes for a wonderful 3 days in April following all of the picks but then you have to play the games. A bunch of okay guys will not win football games... A few REALLY good guys and maybe ONE stud will.... Now of course you have to draft properly but that's another thread.

Not implausible to fathom.
