I think most of the fan base would be for replacing Allen regardless of the timing, but is anybody worried that with the state of the franchise it will be next to impossible to attract a decent replacement. My guess is they will have to ride with Kubiak, who may work out in the long term but like anybody they hire will have no chance in the short term.

Saints haven’t won a game since Sept 15th. It’s almost the end of October.

If that’s not reason enough to move on and rip the bandaid off - don’t know what is.

I question the lost revenue angle because even in the pre Payton days, the team still sold merchandise.
And the fanbase has expanded since then.
And we’re at the point where they’re gonna sell merchandise related to the nostalgia of that 06-21 run since we’re nearing the 20th anniversary of the start of it all.
If anything, I think it’s gonna be the higher expectations from the fanbase post Payton/Brees that’s gonna do Allen in.
I can see Allen staying around like Hasslet. But now? This fanbase expects winning and Allen isn’t it.

That makes sense to me. I grew up and started as a Season Ticket Holder during the Haslett years, so my mentality shifts back to the Ditka/Haslett times. But you're right, there is an entirely different generation that grew up with winning and year-after-year Super bowl aspirations. It's going to be an interesting rest of this season and and off-season for sure.

People said the same thing when were were looking for a new OC and that we would have to settle for Curry. It's an NFL head coach job. There are only 32 of them and only 3 to 6 of them are open each year. We will be able to get a good candidate. It might not be Ben Johnson or Slowik, but I could easily see it being Aaron Glenn or Brian Flores who would be a good options. They were both in the running last time and impressed. But Glenn needed more experience and Flores was suing all the NFL teams at the time.
