Will Saints stand pat at QB with...Jameis Winston? (2 Viewers)

Posted this in another thread as well, but feel it need to be said here too.

Inflammatory and troll posts will be infracted and deleted. Seek a higher level or go post on reddit or something. Don't need that garbage here.
Right! The snippy snark, pot shotting and malicious exchanges have to stop also. We are going to crack down on that hard. It's damaging the atmosphere here and my own experience, and I am pretty tolerant.

Passionate debate is fine, just keep it civil. Remember that we are brothers in arms in that we are all Saints fans.

Nope. šŸ˜ƒ Hope heā€™s healthy and gets a legitimate shot wherever he lands.

Tbh, I'd take a shot at keeping Winston and letting Dalton go, but I'm not sure how Winston would feel knowing he's definitely not going to be the starter. He might rather go where he can start. I don't blame him if he wants to go somewhere else.
At the end of the day, that's where I sit as well. I think it's best to get a fresh start and probably get with a coaching staff that actually works with him.

But with everything all said and done, it's crazy how perception works. I was so high on him because I actually took to the time to look at what we were actually getting when we signed him and I looked hard at the 2019 season. The thing that made me raise my eyebrow was the fact that 4 games dictated our view of that season. There are 4 games (our 2nd game is a huge question mark) that you could put on him "losing" that season; 49ers, 2nd Panthers game, 2nd game vs us, and the Texans. With those 4 games removed, this is where he was statically.

12 games:
3867 yards (322 YPG)
63% completion percentage
28TDs (6.4 TD Rate - 5th in NFL)
14INTs (3.2 INT Rate)
99.3 QB Rating (11th in NFL)
ANY/A - 7.66 (7th in NFL)
31.5 Points per game

At the end of the day, it is what is it. I'm hoping for the best with Carr (not really expecting it though), and wishing Jameis the best of luck at his next stop. I just hope it isn't Carolina...

I don't think the Saints, or any team, would keep a backup QB that is set to count 14mill against the cap.....and I think he needs a change of scenery anyways.....I would be shocked if they retained him TBH....
He gone.

After the way DA handled things last year, thereā€™s no chance he wants to stick around - and especially if he gets a chance to compete for a starting job somewhere. Even if he doesnā€™t, I would imagine heā€™d rather go somewhere with a system and coaching more compatible.

Agreed. Our system is not at all conducive to his play style.

Stats need a certain sample size in order to reflect a standard. Hence a kicker must have so many attempts to qualify for a certain %. What I saw in JW under SP was a more poised player that picked up things better and played within the system and I was encouraged. What I saw in those 3 games was a JW that was reverting back to the QB that played in Tampa, He looked lost at times, making wrong reads, and not seeing blitzes. Mental things that had NOTHING to do with any injuries. That showed signs of REGRESSION which is not a stat that needs a certain sample size to be valid

Your cherry picking rationale skills are not working here.....
