We are getting ready to move to Connecticut and I want to put a whole house sound system in. Especially for football season. I've read some say if not a new house it's cheaper to go wireless. Some say spend the money to have it wired. Thoughts? And I'm reading Sonos is in a class by itself, HELP!

Wired is always better if cost is not an issue. Fishing wires through existing walls can be quite a pain and expensive, though.

Sonos is good, but there are other good solutions as well. Most of the new receivers are internet app capable (sirius, spotify, pandora, streaming, etc)

Is there a huge price difference between the two?

I went Sonos and it's legit.

Get the new Playbase and a pair of Play 1s for the living room. You can unpair them if you want and move them in other rooms.

With the Sonos you do need to plug them into a power outlet. They aren't battery powered.

Can you buy multiple speakers and hang them through the house and outside?

They don't have outdoor speakers, but you can put them outside if that's what you want. They aren't water resistant
