With 6 games left, Blake Grupe is on pace for most FG made in a rookie season and NFL record in attempts. (1 Viewer)

Grupe's been good, not amazing but certainly not our biggest problem. 12/13 from less than 40 yards, along with making all 19 XPs. Lack of TDs is what's killing us.

38 FG is the rookie Record set by Harrison Bulker in 2017
51 FGA is the NFL record by San Fran in 2011

Blake Grupe is 24/30 on FGs.

For the record.

15 FGs... Which avgs 2.3
22 FGA ... Which is 3.6

That seems surprisingly doable. Especially if he gets a few 3/4 FG games in there.

Grupe is just shy of being on pace for those record marks for a rookie. As you've pointed out he could get there with a few more games where he gets 4+ attempts which would put him ahead of pace.

Just in case someone’s wondering:

Saints franchise records for a season-

Field goals made- 32, Lutz 2019
Field goals attempted- 41 Dempsey 1969

Grupe is on pace to make 37 FGs this year. He currently has made 24 FGs. The Rookie record is 28 made by Will Lutz in 2016. Grupe is on pace to break both the Saints Rookie Record for Made FGs and the Saints All-Time Record for Made FGs.

Grupe is on pace to Attempt 46 FGs this year. The Saints Rookie Record for Attempts is 34 by Will Lutz in 2016. Grupe is on pace to shatter the Saints Rookie Record for FG Attempts and the Saints Franchise All-Time Record for FG Attempts

Felt this before the start of the season....

..............Derek Carr just might not be a good QB when space is limited (don't know, just speculating, since he moves the ball well between the 20s) and that's where we would need DA and Sneaky Pete to step their game up with scheming and I hope that's the plan with getting all of these players in, but if the red zone play calling look like it did last season, Grupe is going to eat.

And as great as Morten was, he didn't make 80% of his FGs in his career. Grupe is doing fine.
Yea, i just meant in the sense that we were having to rely on the kicker for points.

There isn't any reason that our kicker job shouldn't belong to Grupe for the next 20 years just based off what he's shown us this season.

My guess is that as the season slips more and more away, he will get fewer attempts when the Saints have a 4th down and less than three yards to go. DA will just go for the first down every time figuring he will get fired anyway.

Of all the places to finally start to look for improvement.

So we fail to score TDs in the redzone, but our kicker who has made 5 FGs on the day has to rush out for a 50+ yard FG and misses and we trying out kicker. DA isn't fit for this job. The kicker is not the reason you lost DA.

Adam Vinatieri, arguably the greatest kicker in NFL history, averaged 29.79 (30) field goal attempts per season. He has a career 83.8% field goal make percentage.

Grupe at 80% aint bad. Yes he's had some very untimely misses, but when you consider how bad the Saints red zone offense is (29th)... Grupe is under an unfair amount of pressure to have to make every single kick because he's probably going to be most, possibly all the points the Saints score in a game.
But hey, changes are needed to this offense so lets bring in and workout Crosby to get the team going in the right direction. SMH
