With the 9th Pick in the 2025 draft, who should the Saints select? (merged) (112 Viewers)

Tmac and Jeanty are worth a top 10 pick…. Warren is close…. I’d say top 15.
TMac and Jeanty sure. Warren you can convince me is a fringe 15 guy but taking him at 9 would be hard for me to swallow.

Great trade back candidate however the Colts will be looking for TE help.

Would you have taken Kamara top 10 if you knew what you know now? And I’m not saying instead of Lattimore…. Just a general question. Yeah you would.
Yes I would... BECAUSE we already had a QB, OL, and WR. Which is my point. Nobody in the past 2 decades have been able to rebuild a team centered around a running back.

Graham is incredible against the run?? He would instantly be our best iDL and would help Bresee dramatically.
I see him as more of a penetrating run defender. His neighbor, Kenneth Grant, will legit stand up 2 O-lineman without getting pushed back to allow Graham to do what he does. I think Grant is more complementary to Bresee. Not that I would pass on Graham just because we have Bresee.

Graham isn't a nose. He's a 3-tech just like Bresee. He doesn't move the needle in run defense.

Also, there are NO GUARDS WORTH SPENDING A TOP TEN PICK ON. Not even a first rounder.

Are y'all just terrified of scoring points or something? "Jeanty only had 100+ yards against Penn State." Yes, against a team with good run defense that was stacking eight in the box and selling out to stop him. He still generated offense. Did I miss something, or are there only a small group of us who noticed how dinged up Kamara got this season? Or that Kendre is injury-prone? Or that Jamaal Williams is better at funny sound bytes than he is at running the football at this point? Or that CEH may not be able to get past his PTSD? What makes y'all think that we have a stacked RB room?
Thank you. We are one injury away from being a terrible running team. We are one draft pick away from being a running power house team.

Running backs have short careers more often than not and are injury prone.

Not saying we shouldn't get him, but there are a lot of inherent risks to taking a RB that high.
lol most of our 1st rounders are injury prone and have short careers. Worst case scenario…Jeanty is a Mark Ingram like player. The guy is phenomenal

Graham is FAR more than a penetrating run defender. His low center of gravity absolutely dominates the LOS.

"His 92.4 PFF run-defense grade leads all FBS interior defensive linemen this season, while his 34 pressures are tied for the third most."

I am also a big fan of Grant btw. But Graham is a different beast.

We built the team around the number 2 overall pick at RB…. We took a chance on a cast off QB with a bum shoulder and almost nothing else no one knew about at the time.

The Gmen are killing themselves right now for not building that team around Barkley at RB.

It’s situational…. This team needs everything.

Position values are pointless.

But without players that can score points…. You are building for something you may never have. Also…. Pointless.

Give me a future stud at QB RB and WR or TE…. Give them a year to gel. Then draft fat guys until your fork runeth over.

Oh and Warren is going to make a lot of teams hate themselves for not taking him. He’s not going to be Bowers…. But he will be just as good in a different way.

The notion of position value is comical at this point on a team that’s in need of playmakers at every position.

The value is impact and building an offensive team that can be competitive in a scoring league centered around QBs and offense - and the rules that benefit them explicitly.

We need to get one of those 3…. And frankly I don’t care where we pick one. Value only comes into play in hindsight.

Would you have taken Kamara top 10 if you knew what you know now? And I’m not saying instead of Lattimore…. Just a general question. Yeah you would.
Check my post history, no one is as high on Warren as I am but we can’t take him at 9. It’s time for our FO to do their homework and find us a replacement for Cam Jordan or whatever blue chip edge rusher will fit our new D.

Carter, Mykel Williams, James Pearce Jr, Scourton.. the talent will be there we need to find the right one. It’s insane to think we’re in a position to take a RB or TE top 10 while missing foundational peices

Bro did you miss the Giants building around Barkley at RB and being terrible. You’re making dudes point for him. The line makes the RB more than vice versa. Kamara was still playing top 10 NFL RB ball this year and our offense was crap after McCoy went down

I don’t care where we take a player that’s "points in a box" at this juncture.

The position value argument is null and void when you are deficient everywhere.

If we are going to suck for a couple years…. And we likely will…. I want to be entertained while we suck. And build an offense worthy of my Sunday.

We are not fixing everything in one draft. Build the offense with young weapons.

We have been drafting DEs DTs OTs high nearly every year…. They have to contribute now.

And Warren is worth wherever he gets picked. If we had traded up last year for Bowers…. The current best TE in football and shoe in for ROY - would he not be worth it just because the rest of the team is arse (and taking another OT or DE does nothing to change that arse-ness)?

Not terrible because they took Barkley high…. They were terrible because they were terrible. Context…. Bro

Kamara won't be top 10 next year. And Miller will be hurt.

Im not taking a completely different TE even higher because I can’t get over missing out on Brock Bowers lol. I think Warren will be good but it’s way too much of a risk when elite Pass rusher talent is on the board.

You build your offense and defense around key positions. Those are QB, OL, WR and front 7 on D. Everything else follows as secondary from there. If you miss on those positions you don’t cry about it, you keep trying.

Not so Graham is excellent against the run and can play NT https://nflmocks.com/posts/2025-nfl...on-graham-dt-michigan-wolverines-01j7p45f6qqj

You made the comment earlier were we any better this after drafting Fuaga. And you mentioned Robinson for Atlanta. So my question to you is, how much better are the Falcons after drafting Bijan that high? Have they made the playoffs the 2 years they've had him? We need playmakers. But you can't reach for them.
