I know it’s a far fetched, highly unlikely move especially given Taysom’s injury situation and his contract.

But…… “IF” SP is still really enamored with him I’m just wondering how he works it. No I don’t think he would give up their 1st rounder but a later round or perhaps waiting for the Saints to come up with some sort of injury settlement with Hill. I just get this feeling that we haven’t seen the last of Taysom playing for an SP coached team.

To answer that question..... 😂🤣🤣
I bet he is going to trade a first round long term player for a guy who might retire within a year. I say the only way taysom played for Sean only if he gets cut.

He has 193, 199, and 210, would you give any of those for Taysom?
Sean definitely would rather than seeing him be cut and allowed to be courted by other teams.

Doesn’t really give us any cap relief either way I think unless he restructures. His last year is a void year (cancels out)

Taysom will be here next season while taking a big paycut.

As will Cam

Neither one of them are getting cut or traded, the paycut they will take while staying is more beneficial to us than the 7th round pick we would likely get
Neither will take a pay cut. They'll re-structure more than likely, which means they get their base salary as a bonus and at signing instead of in game checks.
The Saints will then push some of their cap "hit" off of this season on to other seasons. Saints build auto-restructures into player contracts. That's both "why"
we're always 80million over the cap in February and "how" we get below the cap every March. We push cap hits to future years when often the player is no
longer even on the team.

Players very very rarely take actual pay cuts. When they do it's usually because they're a declining player that wants another year in the league and don't have
any other options. Cam and Taysom would have plenty of options if they were released. Pretty sure Cam has a no-trade clause in his contract. Taysom might
have one as well, I'm not sure.

Agree on your last line though. Both Cam and Taysom are more valuable to us than any late round pick that, unless we were to strike gold with a Purdy, Colston, etc...
And not many people would roll that dice.

Love Cam as an all time Saints great, but I think would have very few suitors if/when released.

Taysom won't even be available to play until probably November because of his injury. And you couldn't get any draft pick for him at this point because of his ridiculous contract.

If he won't take a huge paycut, he should be cut post-June 1.

TH, is coming off a major knee injury and will be 35 before the season starts, he has zero trade value.....

They are both taking a significant paycut, and not doing a simple restructure. Underhill has already said that, on his members only pod yesterday he said how Cam is more worried about being used as a DE so he can get some pass rushing snaps than what he’s making. He knows he has to take a significant paycut and he is willing to do that to finish his career as a Saint.

I had some friends tell me this today. I hope ya'll are right. I can almost see that with Cam. Heard to imagine Carr taking a pay cut. Not sure a starting QB has ever done that. The urban legend was that Brady did, but I believe that turned out to be a regular restructure with a good PR advisor.

If Carr's taking less money, then that would make me believe that him and his agent don't believe he could get more on the open market, which I think is accurate.
