I agree with the OP. I think they probably eek out a win against Carolina. But it will be close. But you lost to a bottom 5 NFL team and the wheels might fall off immediately.

So let's say 1-0.

At Dallas. Saints will be big time underdogs on the road. L

1-1

Eagles - Will be home dogs again. L

1-2

At Falcons. Again will be underdog to a much improved Falcons team. L

1-3

At Chiefs. Big time underdog. L.

Bucs - Picke em game. Let's give them the benefit of the doubt. W

Broncos. Probably Saints slightly favored. But Payton will outcoach Allen. L

So IMO, best case scenario is that you beat Carolina and Tampa and somehow Atlanta. I see no path to winning against Dallas, Philly or KC.

If you just go with Vegas, the team will be 2-4 heading into Denver game.

At the absolute worst, we’d luck our way into 2 wins during that stretch.

I think that's right, but i will say that if they lose to Carolina in game #1 given the schedule after that things could really start to spiral in the first 7 games. They would still likely find a way to win 2 of those since they have average talent and NFL teams are separated by very thin margins, but it could get rough if they start out say 1-5.

Teams can be extremely focused after a loss in the NFL. 0-1 could lead to 4-1. Where 1-0 could lead to 1-4. If that makes sense.

I don't want to be the pessimist of the group, but I think this Sunday's game is the most important one in the next 3 months.

If we lose to the Panthers (I think we will win, by the way). But looking at the schedule, if we lose this first game I don't think it's unlikely that we'll start with a 0-7.
That would probably cost Dennis Allen's job before the halfway point of the season.

If they can split with the Chargers I think they can get to 6 wins. Their ceiling is 7 at the most. 0-4 and even 0-7 is a real possibility although I think they start 2-5.
