Would you take Eric Beinemy or Klint Kubiak as OC ? (2 Viewers)

Is it fair to even critique EB on his performance with the Commanders?

Bad O-line
Lame Duck HC that checked out really fast.
First-year ownership in place.
Shaky quarterback situation
This is where I am. People want to crap on EB, however he was in a lose lose spot.

Respectfully disagree, he had weapons and didn’t utilize em. Was not at all impressed. As I’ve said before I’ve no idea if Kubiak is any better.
I don’t know if Kubiak is any better, but I do know that EB’s weapons in Washington were a spork and a bag of dirt when he went into games.

Seriously other than Terry McLauren, I’m not sure what weapons he had to work with. He had far fewer to work with than Kubiak had with the 49ers, so we aren’t really looking at them in the same lense.

I agree that the Niners have more weapons but Washington has several good wideouts (one better than any of ours arguably) and a good running back. Decent TE. Their QB made some stuff happen too, just got killed behind their line which is very bad…as ours was for a big part of the season. It seemed to me that Eric relied way too much on the pass, and long developing plays when their line was not good enough for that.

Maybe Eric will land somewhere and do well, I wish him success as have zero against him. I also wish Kubiak success since that’s the direction our team is going.

I'm in DC so like @SigFreudianSlip watched a bunch of games. I don't know how EB thought he was going to win games having Howell throw 45 passes. Wash had the worst pass/run ratio at 66%. There are games where running was effective but they just got away from it even in a 1 score game. There was some of the same criticism as PC which WRs in the same space and not scheming players open early in the year. EB's issues came well before Rivera was a sure out. EB scored more than 30 points in the first 3 weeks and then averaged 18 in the last 8 because teams figured him out. This is the opposite of PC.

The best defense for EB would be Wash made only 1 significant new hire on the offense besides EB - Bobby Engram WR coach - while promoting from within a couple of guys to position coaches. It wasn't EB's staff nor a tenured staff.

I see that Eric Bienemy was let go from Washington today. Which one would you take to be OC?

Technically he’s more qualified if your judging mechanism is, the amount of time spent absorbing a high quality system. So the question is, which system is best for us to emulate. I’d choose Shannahans based off how quickly the Texans were able to implement it successfully. Plus, I just like an offense that relies heavily on the run game. And they will pass and run from the same formation making it difficult on the defense.

Kubiak.

I like how Eric Bienemmy relates to current players, but mid year I watched some of his games/playcalling and he was just as bad as Pete with passing the ball excessively.

If we could get him in another capacity I’d like him, want nothing to do w/ his play-calling.

There's a reason E. B. keeps getting passed over for head coaching job.

Plus he didn't really do much as a Washington commanders offensive coordinator.

Wouldn't be surprised if he went back to KC or one of the other teams in the division.

Regardless he'll get hired again, not only for his experience but also to satisfy the Rooney Rule

Been reading into this lately, first I’ve heard that many players just do not like him. That may have a lot to do with him not getting a HC gig.

Definitely Kubiak. I don’t know how good Kubiak will be, but it appears to me that Bienemy is just Reid’s Pete Carmichael.

KC offense did take a step back this past season without Bienemy's influence, production AND performance, no matter how much or little he gets credit for. That is undeniable and I believe it is not a coincidence.
