I would agree with that but the most disliked threw me.What has he done to warrant anyone wanting him back?
well he had 9 sacks in 11 games one year. What has he done to warrant anyone wanting him back?
That's true. And then he followed that up by logging a grand total of .5 sacks in 15 games the following season. Davenport is a bust. I would lose my mind if we brought him back.well he had 9 sacks in 11 games one year.
that 9 sacks is a higher number than any career year carl granderson or chase young has had ever.
Edge is pretty deep this draft actuallyNah, let busts be lost to history. I'm sure the team's highly-enough-paid scouting operation can find a d-lineman or edge rusher in the draft? Someone who's not a reach at the position like Davenport was?
MVS was a bust too and yet here he is helping our team win games. That's true. And then he followed that up by logging a grand total of .5 sacks in 15 games the following season. Davenport is a bust. I would lose my mind if we brought him back.
MVS was selected in the 5th round and has had a productive career. Not sure he can be considered a bust. We sunk significant draft capital into drafting Davenport. But that's the thing. There is no reward that would outweigh the risk in resigning Davenport. He's perpetually injured, and when healthy, he doesn't produce. I would not sign him for vet minimum.MVS was a bust too and yet here he is helping our team win games.
it comes down to risk/reward of 1 yr rental and health evaluation. people don't have to be so emotional. What has Kassapanoahoa done for us this year?

That's true. I discussed MVS's career because you introduced him to the conversation. Regardless, Davenport is a bust. Based not only on his availability but on his play when healthy. And yes, if I was the Saints GM, my evaluation of him would be based on his injury history and lack of talent and production, things that have nothing to do with his draft history. He's a one tool player (only has a bullrush) and would probably be best suited as a DE in a 3-4. Also, I've read that he's kind of a mild mannered guy that does not love football. So, he's just a no.Where Davenport or MVS were drafted is irrelevant at this point. It's what their free agent cost and the risk/reward at this point in time. The fact that we gave up 4 1sts for Davenport does not matter in the evaluation of whether he is worth a 1 yr 4 million flyer in 2025.
