Mirror makes fire so it covers all of the signal devices, matches and fishing lures and traps so I give back fishing pole and take the knife.

My new list-

1) Water purifier (desert or for island with no moving water) since it didn't say it I am assuming it will desalinate like the one I have.
1) first aid (tropical - infection or open cuts attract insects and the warmth is breeding ground for bacteria)

2) tarp for shelter, traps and water collection.

3) mirror for reasons above

4) knife for knife stuff

I apologize for being unclear.

I dropped the fishing pole. Mirror and knife cover it. Break the mirror and you have shiny lures, you can still start a fire with at and signal with a bunch of mirrors


I have two ones depending on the island.

There is some debate in this hypothetical as to which kind of island it is. Regardless of island type, fresh water is the #1 concern.

Pump for drinking on island without fresh water. But if I don't have to worry about making fresh water, I can dig a hole, fill the tarp with water put it in the hole and done

You’d need a convex mirror. A plain mirror could potentially be used to start a fire but you need the right conditions. You’re better off using other methods.
