The only thing I see is a master plan to get a top 5 pick while still having a talented (when healthy) roster. I really don't think they should panic and do a fire sale. Tank, get some assets for CJ, get top 5 pick, keep Lakers 1st round pick. And go from there.

How many 1st round swaps from L.A. do we have left? They've just been rolling them it seems.

None. The Pelicans have no more assets coming from L.A. The Pelicans have no significant incoming assets remaining period. The MIL pick this year won't convey. We have a swap right with MIL in 2026 that is unlikely to, but could, convey. We also traded a 2027 first to ATL in the Murray deal which will be the worse pick between our own pick and the MIL pick.

Going forward we basically just have all our own first round picks. Details below:

Okay I've basically shut down on following the team to keep up. Still stands that they should not panic and do a fire sale and fire Willie. I'd be fine getting assets for CJ and possibly one of Zion or BI. But they must secure a top 5 pick with thier own pick this year. I would absolutely hate if Zion and BI comes back. DJ and Trey remain healthy and the team starts winning games to squeak into the play in and get a middling (8-11) draft pick.
