Yeah, you heard me.

Anyone who wants to tell me he's not athletic enough to start at FS needs to realize that we started Kevin Keasviharn this year.

He has the heart and the experience in this league. We're not going to be over 9-7 this year, so why not give the kid a shot against Detroit? What's the worst that could happen?

I am not arguing in any way, but just what experience are you thinking he has? He hasn't been anything more than a ST guy, unless I am mistaken.

I just mean he's not some wet behind the ears rookie who doesn't know our system, not that he has starting experience.

this will be one of those I told you so,i'm all in:9: give him a shot.that might be a really good move,an i bet you Reis is ready

I gotcha. Yeah, I hate to even think of starting guys just to "see what we have in them", but it might be headed that way. Just makes me feel crummy.

I have kind of thought that Reis was in the same mold as Gleason. A solid ST guy who plays his butt off, but will amount to little more than that. I hope to God I am wrong.

And there is nothing wrong with that, not in the least. But really, where is the line drawn and who makes that call?

KK is nothing but a backup/ST player on most teams. Yet he was starting for us. Reis has shown that he's intelligent and athletic enough. How much of a "drop off" could their possibly be?

The way I look at it . . . it can't be much worse. Hell just following the scheme would be a nice change (actually playing cover 2).

at least he probably knows what direction to run. unlike bullocks

saints wont be in the playoffs regardless of the outcome of these last two games. might as well see what this guy is capable of

Isn't he a strong safety though? Starting him at something not his natural position could throw him off.

You are 100% correct.

He's a strong safety who ran a 4.75 out of college. Unless he's the smartest man alive and makes perfect decisions everytime, he's not going to do much at FS in coverage.

I'd be more inclined to give him a shot at SS with the way Harper has been playing. He's almost 220 pounds so you'd assume he can lay the wood.

Hmm for some reason I was thinking he was a FS. If we give him a shot at SS could Harper keep up in coverage?

he wasn't the reason that the guy dropped the ball, lance moore was. ALL of our safeties are atrocious.

Maybe? But I meant replace Harper, not shift him to FS. We could see what Reis can do at SS b/c Harper hasn't been very good.

FS will be a position we'll have to draft for this offseason.

Harper being a tremendous run-stuffer is the reason we need a playmaking coverage FS. So, in short, no.
