Sharper Breaking NFL record (1 Viewer)

He's going to break the record for Most SAINTS Defenders Participating in Shoulder Shimmy. Did y'all catch that on one of the clips that StChadwick posted? There must've been five guys doing Sharper's celebration dance with him.

Just think: we went from Josh freaking Bullocks to a future HOF FS having maybe his finest season. Unreal!

records he is close too

Most int return yards in 1 season 358 Ed Reed Sharper at 317 knock Deon off the top 3 list WOOT!)

Most career int TDs 12 Rod Woodson (Sharper at 11)

Most int TD in a season is 4 by Eric Allen, Ken Houston, and Jim Kearney (Sharper at 3)

Most Yards for career 1,483 Rod Woodson (1,353 Sharper)

Years leading the league in INT return yards Sharper is tied for first with 2 years but this year will put him all alone!

Most INTs in 1 season 14 Dick Night Train Lane (Sharper is on pace to destroy this; not likely though)

Night Train Lane--now that is a great name from the distant past.

The one fact I find in all those numbers that is truly amazing and not mentioned is that the INT for a season record by Lane is also the rookie record. I have little doubt that record will stand the test of time.

small tidbit: Record for most consecutive games throwing an interception is 8 by TomMorrow. Jake Delhomme is currently at 6. If he plays and throws one next week, Sharper could have a hand in another record being set when we play Carolina.

Thanks for looking that all up. I was wondering about the pick 6 in a season record. Wow, he's almost there. If not for that helmet to helmet, which was legit, he'd be tied already.

We won't see Jake this season. Just a hunch.

What is also crazy about the Nightrain record of 14 in a season as that was a 12 game season if I am not mistaken.

I think he'll probably resign with us anyway. Players actually WANT to come play here. Its not like the old days where we had to settle on players past their prime. I sure would want to play on a team with the best offense in the NFL and a top 10 defense still on the rise.

Sharper is past his prime....but he is playing up to his prime caliber and I'll take it.

So nice not to cringe at the number 42.
