This is how I see it working out on the depth chart, but as we know with depth charts, nothing is set in stone. There will probably be some packages we'll see Lewis, Asomugha and Robinson on the field, some with Lewis and Greer on the field, etc.

That would be a nice lineup. If Ryan already feels Robinson is not a starter and would be better served to being a dime, maybe we will push hard to keep Nnamdi and Greer.

He has no connection to the state besides being born in Lafayette.

yeah im sure its been mentioned before but i cant remember what they said.

It could be that we want to cut ties with his contract and bring in a cheaper vet instead. I like Greer, but Nnamdi isnt a dropoff in talent and we need to start saving cap room or else its all going to end badly!

This could be our way over going over the top in letting him know We really want him here!!! And I could give a rats rear if he can still play, wrong scheme, to slow or whatever else... if Loomis signs him, then I want him as well!!!!

Agreed, mostly, remember that Dallas is where the Saints once were with free agents while we are at the top of the list of where to go.

Oh, I know we will blitz to create the pressure. Otherwise we probably won't generate pressure. But, I think what we have in Galette and Wilson, plus the addition of a Jones, Mingo, or Jordan as a Rush LB and Harper coming off the corner, will generate pass rush when we blitz. But, we are going to have to have good man to man cover guys behind that or we are going to get burnt. So, I support spending whatever we have to spend on defense in free agency on the secondary.


Plus, the way the draft appears to be falling, it looks like we have a much better shot at a play maker at OLB than at a play maker at CB at #15. That being said, I doubt we can offer Asomungha enough money to sign here, but I do think it would be a great move if we could.

All the Nnamdi talk has got me thinking (dangerous, I know)...I've been thinking we absolutely need pass rusher first and foremost, but maybe you're right. If an Aso, Lewis, Greer combo could shut down receivers just couple seconds longer, that might be enough to result in some coverage sacks. Basically, backward from how I had been thinking about it. I've been thinking pass rush is crucial to make the backfield better, but maybe a sick backfield could bolster the pass rush.

Greer's cap # this year is $5.4M, with $4M being dead money. We'd only save $1.4M in cap space by cutting him.
