Poor turnout from the Who Dat Nation (1 Viewer)

Green Bay also played half their games in Milwaukee until 1994. Since then, they have been a perennial contender, and they still draw primarily from Milwaukee, two hours away, which has a population of 600,000 as opposed to New Orleans with less than 400,000. If Milwaukee were the size of New Orleans, and the Packers were consistently 7-9, I wouldn't be surprised if the stadium were a lot less crowded and the waiting list dwindled. Or maybe they are just more loyal to their team than the people in New Orleans.

Yes, was there such a waiting list for Packers tickets before the Brett Favre Reggie White era?

In terms of market size, Milwaukee and New Orleans are both similar. They're both considered small markets.
Now, I'm not guaranteeing the stadium will be sold in perpetuity, but I don't think it'll ever get in the danger zone.

It was plenty loud. You really cannot judge from TV. I have gone back and watched games I have taped after being there and it is completely different.

This. I haven't gotten to re-watch the game yet (will likely tonight or tomorrow), but the noise was there.

Now granted I live in Tennessee now and almost all of the Saints games I watch are all on TV...but the Dome just does not seem loud anymore. I don't know if the fans are spoiled since the Superbowl or if more people are selling their tickets to opposing fans...or what. Since the Superbowl I can count on one hand the times I have been watching and thinking "Wow that Dome sounds loud..."

It all depends on what network is broadcasting the game, where they place the mics to pick up the crowd noise and how liberal the sound engineer is with the level sliders.

Ahhh, the trick would be to not buy season tickets at all rather than buy them and sell them to other people. If you're not happy with the product, you don't give the team any money at all. You don't give the team money and then turn around and sell them yourself. That doesn't prove anything.

This. If they're that unhappy with the product, simply don't renew and let those seats go to someone who'll want to be there.

I, like many others, had to let my tickets go. WHY? Because we lost our jobs. The oil and gas industry laid a ton of people off in Louisiana. Many people on the waiting list were laid off as well. Throw in the flooding and many people rebuilding homes and that compounds the issue. But yeah, we are just fair weather fans. Shaking my damned head at you **** stirring trolls.

Dan, I accidentally hit the red thumb, when I meant to hit the green. I green your post. Appreciate all you do and have done here over the years.

Can't dictate who fans sell their tickets to. Hell, if they're sold through Ticket Exchange, I assume you never know who buys tickets from you (or do you?). Too many legitimate reasons why fans can't make it to the game.

You hit the nail on the head, GA. If you can't make a game and sell through the Ticket Exchange (Ticketmaster), you have no idea who is buying them. Same with Stub-Hub. You're right, there are "Too many legitimate reasons why fans can't make it to the game" right now.

The cowboys, raiders, steelers and the packers are famous for how their fans travel. The fact there were so many raiders fans says more about their fanbase than it does ours, its not like there were a ton of empty seats at the game, there were just more raiders fans willing to pay inflated prices to see the game. Atlanta will bring a lot of fans for MNF (like they always do), so Im sure this thread will be bumped again in a couple of weeks.

I know this to be true for a fact. I have a coworker here in Florida who worked in the oil industry (with her boyfriend too) and they both got laid off. My dad's cousin also worked in that industry and has recently relocated to Utah or somewhere doing something completely different because there was little in Louisiana for him. And when he left, what did he do? Sold his tickets.

When I can't use my 4 tickets, I get on here and give all the info I can then post them and put the info on saints report again that they are posted. . That's about all I can do when I can't make a game. Many season ticket holders live out of town can't make every game. I travel for my work and make about 3/4 of the games. Come up with a system where we can sell to only saints fans and I get my money every time if you want to fix the problem. It's a large investment for those of us that sit down low. I remember days when I couldn't give tickets away. Nobody wanted to go. Winning and success drive attendance especially in the days of fantasy football. .

Exactly. Too many times, people come to the board to whine and have to have an excuse as to why we lost. Blaming it on the fans in the seats always seems to be a way to do so. Had we won, we would have heard how the WhoDat Nation represented in the Dome. Typically the complaint comes from the fan sitting on the sofa.

It also looks like it is the road trip most Seahawks fans will take this year.

Just a little something that always annoys me about these types of discussions.
1.) Don't know if this is widely known but the Saints have to make tickets available to the other teams (I think the number is like 3k or something of that nature) many times teams don't use their allotment and the tickets go on sale by the saints/Ticketmaster.

2.) there is always a % of ticket holders every week that will be unable to attend and put their tickets up for sale the reasons can range from I am a doctor and I have to work, I am going on vacation, I am going hunting to I just don't feel like going.

There were a decent amount of Raiders fans. It was the opening week for them on the first season they have had hope in, in a long time. They need to win to build momentum to keep that team in Oakland. The dome is not a scary place to play anymore. The Saints showed poorly in the pre-season and I am sure Raiders fans dominated the secondary market because of that.

Further, the Raider fans that were in attendance were very vocal and not afraid sitting on their hands like most visiting fans do only cheering when they score. I recall a game on Halloween night back in 2010 where we had Pitt. They had their 3k fans in there and they were very loud with yellow towels. This is the Saints team coming off a Superbowl admittedly coming off a couple of poor showings (loss to the Browns at home).

Point being is opposing fans in the dome happen almost all the time the NYG fans were all over last year. NOLA is a great road trip people take it and sometimes package games with cruises it happens all the time.

It is just some opposing fans are louder and more conspicuous. The Raiders were in that group, where as the NYG fans just blended in.

But positive sign for the city. Saints have to be one of the biggest draws for opposing teams fans.
