This was an amazing game for a first game. If he can keep this team playing at a high level, then he needs to get the job. The announcers kept saying that he just has a slight chance, and can only get it by beating Alabama, but I disagree. Even if we lose to Alabama, but play a good game, and manage to beat Ole Miss, then I think he needs to get the job.

LSU has an embarrassment of riches at RB. LF7, Guice, Williams, a team hasnt been this deep since Faulk, Collins, and Mealey.

My thoughts exactly.

I would love to beat Bama, but I don't think it's gonna happen. What I want is for them to have to work for it. I want LSU to still be fighting tough in the 4th quarter. Last week I was expecting a blowout. But if LSU can keep playing like this I will feel so much better.

I can live with losing to Bama but I can't with getting embarrassed and dominated by Bama and that's what had happened recently. We gotta make it a game against Bama and we can't lose to Arkansas PERIOD.

Those weren't the only differences. The TEs were split out wider instead of bunched up, which gave Guice more lanes to run through. The play calls came in faster. The reverses were well executed and well set up, not just called to prove the offense can do more than the toss dive. The execution and energy level were much better. We brought back the jet sweep. We were calling WR screens (which were actually being completed) and not just throwing vertically up the seams. It was a much better game plan with crisper execution.

LSU has always been deep at RB. This isn't new. Ware, Magee and Hill was a vert good trio. It's fun watching Guice, though. then you see a guy like Nick Brosette as the #4 guy who would be the #2 guy at Texas right now if he listened to Charlie Strong.

1) My remark was in response to the way Orgeron kept repeating the changes he made, most often mentioning keeping the team fresher. Also, 3-receiver sets are still 3-receiver sets if one of the receivers is a TE.

2) Being well rested and less fatigued has a direct impact to play calls being faster, getting to the line of scrimmage faster, fewer mental errors, better execution, energy level, etc.

I'm a little surprised this has never been mentioned before. Why is this team practicing in pads for hours during the season? They shouldn't need tackle drills, live tackling, etc. at this point. They should be taking every precaution to avoid injury. The single biggest factor to a successful season at any level is the ability to remain healthy.

I had no idea this was going on. I actually thought the team wasn't practicing as much as they needed to b/c they looked so sloppy on game day and were disorganized offensively and couldn't even get plays in on time. This just goes to show how far off the rails Miles' program had gone. He beat up his players in long practice AND despite long practices couldn't even get them prepared with a proper game plan. He was even dumber than I thought.

Gone is the notion that Missouri has the talent to hang with the SEC’s big boys. And LSU is one of the SEC’s big boys, even if it hasn’t played that way the first month of the season. There was no give-and-take in this game, no bad breaks that turned the tide — just a constant reminder of who was better, to the delight of 102,000 fans at Tiger Stadium.

The only thing that prevented the score from reaching greater heights was LSU kindly huddling between plays — burning off seconds that Missouri did not as it blazed through incompletions.

Perhaps LSU’s players did benefit emotionally from hearing a new coaching voice — even if they can’t always understand the Cajun dialect of Orgeron — but I doubt the outcome would be much different if these teams played next week or next month. The talent gap was that wide. For Missouri, the only positive on a humbling night is there are no more LSUs on the schedule.
