Referee crew from saints cowboys and chiefs chargers. (1 Viewer)

Why would they get fired for doing their job? Every week of the NFL this happens. It's not incompetence. People make up excuses for them every week. They are too old, the speed of the game... Look at the technology in the game. It's stupid easy to make all the correct calls, never miss a call, etc. But they keep doing it.

They are paid only $200k a year and are protected by the shield. Think about it. It's always been about money.

Only 200,000. Aren't they part time?

This has nothing to do with the potential push off flag... it was the catch..

What are you talking about? Everyone is saying the refs were one sided for the Chiefs and were trying to overturn the td. Why would they have to when it was textbook offensive pass interference...
They could have and should have wiped that td off the board....

Lol are you blind? That call was correct. He didn't push off. His arm was being held down and there was no push off.

The ball was over his head and he tried to one hand it. Before the ball got to him he had his left arm fully extended trying to get separation. If anything it shoulda been a no call. Guess Aikman is blind too because he said the same thing during the game. Go back and look at the replays. Horrible call by the refs.

They werent reviewing the play because of the “push off”. You can’t over turn a flag like that......

Anyways even if he did push off the chiefs got away with helmet to helmet hit and unnecessary roughness.... both plays cancel each other..

What everyone needs to know is that the "old" refs are either retiring or being pushed out. Some of the refs making the announcements may be familiar, but the crews are mostly being turned over for new guys.

At the same time the NFL is adding a ton of new rules that are (in my opinion) overwhelming experienced refs much less this new blood. Full time refs would not fix this problem. Training and "full week" preparation would not help fast moving game time decisions on so many new rules.

If the NFL is not going to relent on this constant changing rule process, which recent news appears to confirm with the punt play rules coming, then the only way to solve it is more refs per game. Either on the sidelines or watching the broadcast in a booth on headsets with the refs on the field. The latter makes the most sense to me.

All you complaining about the current refs need to remember hos BAD the replacements were during the strike in 2011 early season.

Some of those refs from 2011 are the ones on the field NOW because the refs that we're striking have been retiring or have been pushed out, don't know which.

Those refs really can take over a game. They sucked royally in Saints Boy game, Eagle Boy game, and Chiefs Charger game. Bring back Hocili please.

Excuses. You can watch the stuff happen in front of their eyes and they still don't make the call. Those spearing shots that went uncalled happened right in front of the official. There is multiple officials getting 30 replays, every play, in the booth. They still get it wrong.
It’s a multi-billion dollar industry. Why not have people looking at those 30 angles in real time. They could say, “throw a flag” to the guys on the field, and make the correct call.

Maybe tell the refs that a runner was down 2 yards shy of a first down.

They absolutely instruct them on whether to throw a flag or not. Sometimes the booth wants a flag and sometimes they don't.

Prettt hard to catch a ball with 2 hands when one is being held down by a defender. It was a great call and i'm glad they made that call. Would you feel the same way if that was michael thomas? If it was latt or apple i would be upset with them. Aikamn Doesn't know everything. I heard him crying about a good call and i disagreed with them. At no point did williams try to push off. His hand was being held down.

He wasn't holding down his arm, it barely brushed against it. And it was after he extended his arm to get separation first. He made the first contact. So at worse it shoulda been a no call especially with the ball way over his head and prob uncatchable. Like I said, horrible call. And I have news for you, it's not just Aikman, Google about the calls. There are several national writers questioning the calls made at the end of that game including that one. And the obvious push off in the end zone on the td catch. Guess they were all blind too....
