Great chance for Saints to open up a 2 1/2 game lead over Carolina (1 Viewer)

It’s way too early to look at playoff seeds. We still have over a half season of football left. I’m not convinced the 49ers are a great team. Their schedule has been a joke and Garrappolo is still mediocre.

screw the Panthers. I’m going to root against them every time until the time comes that I’m forced not to.

It's weird how easy the schedule has been for both teams. And the Pats get the Browns next week, so, another fairly easy win for them. SF on the other hand is about to start the toughest part of their schedule, so we'll find out soon enough.

And regardless, we'll improve against at least one of them as long as we win this week. Cardinals won't be an easy out. They have a far better offense than Chicago and with our dbs hurting right now, it's gonna be tough to cover every one of their wrs.

Speaking of the Panthers, has anyone been over to their "huddle" lately? It is a total whine-fest over there. They complain about everything, even about a local Dallas station delaying airing a tornado watch. All this and their team is actually playing pretty good.

We kinda do though. As long as we are within one game of the 49ers, we do control our own destiny because we play them.
But we don't, because there are currently other teams who would be tied with both of us, so head-to-head wouldn't be the tiebreaker in that case.

We are already control the division. If we don't win it, it's our own fault. We don't currently control the number one seed.
But we do control the seeding ov

Although we do technically control our own destiny for a #2 seed by beating SF. And that's because SF plays GB later on in the season.

↑↑This. Always this. Win your division first. Make the dance.↑↑

The one thing I am no longer worried about is playing on the road. This team is a bunch of road warriors. Just secure the spot in the dance FIRST, then we can worry about seeding. A 7-1 to 4-3 would be a much better feeling than 7-1 to 5-2 or 6-2 to 5-2.
I agree with secure the division first. Without winning the division, the best you can be is 5 seed and then the 49ers record or head to head with them makes no difference.

Secure the division first. You don’t want a repeat of 2013.

Either way works for me. A Panthers loss puts us in a great spot in the division. Big picture wise a 49ers loss could lead to us having home field throughout.

The result of this game is a WIN-WIN for us... unless it ends in a tie - which is half a win-win for us!

In terms of games with implications for our season, the Panthers @ 49ers followed by the Packers @ the Chiefs are both really important games coming up this Sunday.

I agree with those above who want the 49ers to start dropping games, and would back the Saints to beat the Panthers at least once down the stretch, but San Francisco look pretty legit to me.

Otherwise, the timing of the Mahomes' injury couldn't be worse for us. Hopefully the other players on the Chiefs can step up because right now they are in a three-way fight with the Bills (who host the Eagles), the Ravens (bye) and Indy snapping at their heels and likely to knock off Denver this week. If the road to the Super Bowl is to go through NOLA, we want the Packers to drop a few to make sure of it.

Niners will get a real test this week at Panthers. West to east travel and against a formidable opponent. Niners beat Rams with Rams not having Gurley. They will be tested with CMAC.
