Giants cut LB Alec Ogletree (1 Viewer)

I was a big fan when he came out. Wonder if he’s got any tread left on the tires.

I would sign him or get Kirksey you can never go wrong with having 2 elite LBs on the field at all times that can do it all : pash rush, run defense and Coverage

I like Alec a lot.

He was one of my favourite prospects coming out from Georgia.

He played well for the Rams, and it seemed that he was traded to the Giants for cap relief.

We can't judge his time in New York considering that awful defence.

He is still young at 28, he played with Janoris Jenkins, and if signed he won't count against when calculating compensatory picks.

I would love for us to get Alec to replace Kiko in our depth.

is a long time in nfl years

Depending on the player.

In this case, Ogletree is only 28. Typically right in a player’s prime.

But coaches are going to have to figure out why his play fell off. I have read that he’s really bad in pass pro. Is that a scheme issue? Or is it something that you can’t work with?

I’ll be curious to see where he goes.

I haven’t watched him much but coming out a Georgia he was a LB/S hybrid and pass pro was one of his strengths. I remember with the Rams he was pretty good at pass pro.

Right. And then he fell off a cliff.

That’s what I mean. Some coach is going to have to figure out why.

He was probably trying too hard to make plays, to help out that porous defense. Just stick to the fundamentals and instincts. I’m sure he could rebound if surrounded with better talent.

It looks like it would be a good addition.
I mean I thought Teo Played great when he was here.
And he washed out of San Diego.
