Just got a news flash.......Rog said the NFL Draft will be held as scheduled.......?

That’s not accurate. There were 53 confirmed cases on Mardi Gras day. The first case was on or about January 21.

And we know from local data and genome study in some localities that there were significantly more cases that had been confirmed by testing (Washington state mainly).

The charts here give you totals for each day.

Yeah, I was positive there were cases in the US prior to Mardi Gras day. It's clear that had we been doing more testing earlier, we would have found quite a few cases then. Disappointed that testing took so long to get ramped up when we all knew it was coming.

I’m making a point of getting take out at least twice a week. I’m trying to help local business.
We're doing the same, places we've been eating at for nearly twenty years that would break my heart to see go under.
FWIW, two of my kids are still working at restaurants.
Right there with you -- my 16 year old is working at a burger joint around the corner.

Is anyone getting takeout from restaurants/fast food?

I've been to the grocery store multiple times and have plenty of food but I was just wanting something different but I feel a little nervous about takeout

Should I be?

DoorDash, Grubhub etc etc all have great deals now, because they want to help out the workers.

Also, a lot of the restaurants are offering free delivery themselves, in order to keep the business going.

The doctors that have ordered meals themselves for their families, have said on CNN & MSNBC that it is safe, just take the food out of the cardboard & put it on your own plates.

We have really enjoyed some delicious food & did not feel scared at all. Also, as I said earlier in the thread, when you give the driver an extra 5 dollar bill, for all of their work, they light up like a Christmas tree, they are so grateful.

I'll let you know in about a week to 13 days... I ordered from one place where I know the owner twice now.

Uh oh...

One thing I had to laugh at in the article
the Navy is trying to trace the sailors’ movements and isolate sailors they’ve been in contact with.

That is impossible on a carrier. Those 3 sailors were in contact with at least 75% of the crew at some point before they showed symptoms.

I'm sure you are right. I read that information in some article which obviously had it wrong. My mistake.

At any rate, there was no indication that it was anywhere near here at the time. And apparently there were no death in the U.S. until 4 days after Mardi Gras. Anyway, the point is that by the time Mardi Gras was ending the entire thing was really just getting into the national consciousness. In fact, I didn't know much of anything about it until a few days after Mardi Gras because work was keeping me too busy to see much news. I'm sure others knew more, but the vast majority of people thought it was just something people who had actually gone to China had gotten. Obviously that wasn't the case.

Was looking at Ohio's site while ago. They keep telling us that a spike is coming. Looking at the graph though I'm not seeing the doubling of cases every 2 days like I was seeing at other places. Think the spike is coming or could've DeWine's early and aggressive approach to closings being paying some dividends?

I had some food delivered to my house today. Nice guy, he just got back from being on Spring Break in Florida. It wasn't really his spring break but he was off of school and was already in Miami since he went on a cruise the week before so he decided to stay another week and party. Said that this was all overblown, nobody at the restaurant he works at thinks this is a bigger deal than the flu. Said he's been really busy delivering food though, I was the 54th house he had been to just today. He mentioned everyone had been great and he has over $100 in cash just from tips. The restaurant's drive through has been slammed as well. They are serving 110 cars per hour. Said the girl at the register has touched 880 credit cards or cash in her 8 hour shift. The 8 other people working the restaurants have to change their gloves at least once an hour. None of them have been tested, none have had their temps checked so they're all just hoping nobody is carrying the virus while asymptomatic like most young people are. There's no way anything could go wrong.

:hihi:
